Nobody can prove Jesus' existence and non-existence, the concept of Jesus may have been copied from a real preacher from long time ago, but that person is far less than what the bible depicts him to be, when people write stories they tend to embillish things you know.. or maybe they just made it up entirely.. nobody knows..

I'm just saying that if they are that significant figures of our history, then there has to be some kind of documents or some kind of records except anang bible that will give us some light of their direct relations with other significant people in their time.. but none of it exist, except of course the bible..

Ang problema is if we close our minds when discussing ideas and belief. We may have the FULL perspective, but if that perspective is exclusively based on the ideas that were implanted on our brains since we were young and Not from our own - then we may Not find the truth.

yep i agree sio, however i'm not sure if that would be applicable to me as to
why i am Catholic.

i was baptized in the Catholic Church but grew up with no catechism, no solid teaching about Chrsitianity,
heck i didn't even know the bible had 2 parts(OT and NT) till i reached college. i didn't understand what Holy Trinity was
grew up witnessing(first and second hand) Hypocrisy in church and the religious, developed an "unconscious" hatred in God while i was in my teens, religion and even the religious. PLUS! the discouragement of my parents to have anything
to do with the church, (ingun pa nila, basta mutoo ug GInoo,magtinarong sa kinabuhi..mag ampo ug "Our Father" ok na)
so i wouldn't say i'm Catholic or remained Catholic because i grew up with it..

if what drives my Catholic heart are the ideas that i was born and raised with.
i wouldn't be a Catholic today, i would have been an Atheist or Allergic to God and anything that comes with the subject.

dont you ever wonder why it's so easy to search for historical evidence on people born centuries before Christ, yet you cant never find sufficient historical data about the lives of the people depicted in the bible?.. I mean people of such importance would've had any sort of historical data written about them except that in the bible right?..

ive looked at hundreds of historical books before but none really said something about Jesus and Simon Peter and the rest of the Apostles, needless to say the Old Testament stories, well except Christian books of course..

what's on debate really is not whether Jesus and the rest of the guys walked on earth as it was proven that they did (you can freely search for it)
what's on debate is Jesus' divinity and what His followers say about Him(resurrection, Son of God, salvation etc).

what literature?.. no evidence have been found if he really was persecuted in Rome, became a Pope in Rome or that he even went in Rome at all.. heck there isnt even enough evidence to stipulate with certainty that he even existed at all..

most of them trying to discredit the Roman Catholic Church,
the Church established by Jesus Christ himself through Simon Peter.
