guys mangutana lang ko ba kung e partition nimo ang HDD naa ba siyay significant drop in terms sa iyang storage performance like reading or writting? planing to buy a 2 TB hdd... ako unta tungaon para nindot hahaha
thanks sa inputs

i don't partition bro
pwede ra kaayo ka buy ug 80GB SATAII for Win7 ulti 64 OS
then set ur profile > select all > cut > open 2TB > paste
then ur 80GB becomes ur OS ang programs only..
so it will becomes faster than partitioned HDD
ur hdd even had 3 or more platters, it's header moves at same time
so it only read | write one byte at a time as requested by the procie
but having separate disk enables PC to read | write one byte on 2 or more disk separately and simultaneously.
even with NCQ, separate disk still is faster
kung imong 2TB is the 5400 rpm murag di kaau nindot ug performance
nya sakto pud si butitoy.. mas paspas ang lahi nga drive nga OS kaysa partitioned hdd..
nya if butangan na nimo ug OS ang 2TB mahago maau imong hard drive..
If you want better performance, always go for double HDD setup. Or better SSD for OS + Mechanical HDD for storage
nah, negligible kaayo impact ana boss, remember lang na files at the end sa disk, or last partition will take longer to read than files at first partition or inner part sa disk. meaning make sure to put OS at the beginning partitions.
"Two is better than one".....
If you want your "precious" data files to be safe, store them separately on a different hardrive...and another smaller capacity hardrive for your Operating System and programs....
Don't ask why....That's self explanatory......
"Should I partition my 2TB hardrive which contains all my "precious"?....
It doesn't matter cause larger capacity hardrives contains more than one disk platter which makes them easier and quicker to access...
Forget the significant "performance drop"...
you won't notice them in real world computing anyway....

if you put all your OS and precious in one hardrive, you will be risking them of loosing once your OS fails from everyday wear and tear....
It would be wise my friend to separate them...
