Default LTO Transfer of Ownership (Release of Mortgage Doc lost) help pls...

    Guys, tabang please...

I already have all the necessary docs except for the release of mortgage document. The car was encumbered to a financing company that is no longer operating now. This has long been fully paid but the release of mortgage document is lost. Is there a way for me to transfer the ownership of the car without the release of mortgage doc? would an affidavit of lost do?

    Salamat!

ato sa klarohon TS ha. if the car is encumbered to the said financing company, is it registered also on its name? if not, you may transfer it in your name but it will still noted as encumbered to the same financing company because wala pa ang release of mortgage.

can you still recall kinsa nag notaryo sa release of mortgage? you can ask for a copy at the notarial division sa capitol TS. pero they will ask you kung unsa nga doc no, page no, book no, and the year. or go find the lawyer himself basi naa pa cya copy sa iya office.

Well, there are other options but I don't personally recommend. That's the thing kung pasagdan nimo usahay ang usa ka butang.

adto sa registry of deeds. try to inquire the CR of the car kung unsa status ana didto. tell them your problem and then seek for legal advice.
