MANILA, Philippines – The 2013 midterm polls will finally put to a test the supposed Catholic vote in national posts. The Diocese of Bacolod, which has a long history of activism and socio-political involvement, has started the ball rolling.

On Thursday, February 21, it issued a statement, beseeching Negrense Catholics to vote against 7 senatorial candidates that it identified to be “anti-life.” These aspirants, in their capacity as senators and congressmen, voted to pass the reprodutive health (RH) bill last December. They are the “Team Patay.”

Conversely, the diocese endorsed the candidacies of 6 senatorial bets they tagged as “pro-life.” They are the “Team Buhay.”

What the campaign vs

Oh well, the Church cannot accept defeat after losing the battle against RH Bill so they have to campaign against these senators.

they do not care about the politician background anymore, it is just only between pro and anti RH bill. for LoL..

we all have our opinions....the church does....they just forgot about the constitution:

ARTICLE II
DECLARATION OF PRINCIPLES AND STATE POLICIES
Section 6. The separation of Church and State shall be inviolable.

or probably, inviolable is a word misunderstood....like the word CONCEPTION in the RH bill...errr...law...

It should be that we need to look at the totality of a candidate (lifestyle, capacity, etc), not just a stance on a particular issue..

i am catholic myself but these catholic leaders are making no sense, well, it's all up to you, the campaign slogan is correct, CONSCIENCE VOTE but those people on the check side, not all those are people deserve my vote and same as on the x side ... what the hell are all these catholic leaders know when they can't even clean their own backyard, so hypocrites
