very biased decision...where's the freedom of expression now? what is religious feelings anyway? damn fools....

there is one thing call RESPECT!!! I may hate some of the hypocrites priest, but that does not give me the freedom to do such things during a christian ecumenism.

there is no question about someone's "freedom of expression" in this context. he can express his sentiments all he wants, as long as it is done in a place that is appropriate. again, you don't go into someone's house and "express" yourself in a way that offends it's master.

I thought our church is a public place? but I do agree we all get 2nd hand information from the media which mostly with exaggeration. In that sense we aren't sure if Celdran really did it in front of the altar.

Just my observation OTHERS don't follow the rules for debate - First and foremost you can't attack the person.

Let's create a healthy discussions in here we will not benefit if we will be rude.

Statement of the Archdiocese of Manila on Conviction of Mr. Carlos Celdran


The Archdiocese of Manila did not pursue the Case against Mr. Carlos Celdran for Violation of Article 133 of the Revised Penal Code. While deeply disturbed by the incident, then Manila Archbishop Gaudencio B. Cardinal Rosales gave instructions for the Archdiocese to no longer pursue the case. The Criminal Case against Mr. Celdran was pursued by the State represented by the Public Prosecutor and a lay private prosecutor. Based on the Decision of the Court the prosecution presented four witnesses, none of whom were from the Archdiocese of Manila. Three of the witnesses were from the Episcopal Commission on Biblical Apostolate of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines which organized the event at the Cathedral where Mr. Celdran performed the deed he was prosecuted for. One was a regular mass goer at the Manila Cathedral who was present at the event.Cardinal Rosales has long forgiven Mr. Celdran.

How the case on appeal proceeds from hereon is not up to the Archdiocese of Manila or the Church but to the Courts.

But we need to consider the Religious tolerance sad, you can define a church a public place but he is attacking a religious group or people representing a religious group and Not an individual person.

You cant Just go into the middle of a senate hearing bringing placards saying the senators sucks. its your Right to say what you want because you pay tax but youre in a wrong place to do that.
