Celdran acted with his belief you may find immoral but he only did what he think was his rights as a citizen.

Is this "Obscenity" already? that's very funny. If we will not stress out our grievances or voices they will continue to oppress the oppressed - it was been for hundred of years that they chained us to our own sufferings.

I'm not referring to all so called HOLY people but some of them are just bunch of fools claiming to be prophet of God and keep using the name of the LORD for their own benefit. If you haven't noticed that up to now then it's your problem - you choose to act morally blinded by their false philosophy.

Why are we always afraid to expose the truth?

the intentions of the accused are not being judged, but rather, his actions are. what he thought was his right, was infringing on the rights of others.

the decision of the court shouldn't come as a surprise to us or to carlos celdran. he was well aware of his right to express but wasn't aware of the limits of his expression. and for me, this serves a lesson to all men who wants to make freedom of expression a weapon of choice. i'm not saying wala ta'y right to express, what im saying is that express it at the right avenue. aw kung dili man gani, unsa na'y kalahian nato sa mga bandido kung mauhon.

The punishment for the so-called crime is still excessive. This smells like oppressive Iranian religious fascism. A true democracy puts freedom of expression above freedom from being offended. This is another reason I think our democracy is just a fake disguise to hide the backwards feudal theocracy that continues to control our country. The church's lackeys don't help the situation at all with these weak defenses.

Secularism is needed to fight against the growing malice of religious fundamentalism. The argument used by the fanatics is a slippery slope. If he should be punished for offending religious feelings whats to stop someone from closing down churches because their sermons offends non-believers feelings? You can't have your freedom while taking away someone elses. sine qua non

i also dont think this is about freedom of speech. there are thousands of people criticizing the church but why is it that only celdran is being subjected to this punishement? he wuldnt be jailed if he did it outside the cathedral,perhps. he can protest all he wants, no one is stopping him because it is his right to free speech, but please please do it in the right place and time.

fine with me, im for the strict imposition of laws, even oppressive tyrannical ones, as long as we admit that we're nothing but a fake democracy with a very restricted concept of freedom.

btw, this is the same thing russia did with the people who protested inside a chuch there. are we following russia's example? if so, good role model!
