maybe because I had expected less from Crowe, but really, IMHO his voice is how I would had imagined for Javert. Low and baritone. That's how I perceive a character that is lawful neutral. I'm aware that there are critics to his performance in this movie, but I believe the contrary.

i never thought hugh jackman could sing.
and i burst into tears when anne sang the 'i dreamed a dream'...
kudos!

For me personally Russel Crowe did not portray the character of Javert properly. His character was always strong.... and Superior but Crowe made him look so so in the movie. People were scared of Javert, which you as a viewer would think differently.
Speaking of Inspector Javert, here's a scene from the 25th anniversary. Kani siya nga guy, for me perfect ang pagka play niya sa role. Isug ug kahadlukan kaayo.

congrats to hugh jackman and anne hathaway!
mo tan-aw gyud ko ani. nayahaha- dungan ra ba ni ug showing sa SM lacion and city cebu?
This movie was overlong, has bad camerawork, poor editing, and some lame fight choreography. Tan-awa at 2:27:10 mark, naa si Anne Hathaway nag-yuko murag pina "excuse me, mo-exit sa ko sa frame" haha. But the singing, there were some standouts like Eponine or the young Cosette.
I saw the movie 3x already. Nice naa lang uban words when sang dili ma sabtan . . .

If you're a fan of the broadway musical, you'll love this movie. Otherwise you're just waiting for them to sing I Dream a Dream, On My Own and Do You Hear the People Sing. I always loved the Thenardiers parts in the musical and Sascha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter really stood out as the comic relief of the movie. I'm always surprised that people are surprised that Hugh Jackman can sing. The guy won a Tony award for The Boy from Oz.
