by what you posted earlier regarding Jesus not being God and about the books that have been added
during the compilation of the Bible and about misleading teachings of the early church.
basing from your posts, i think you are not confused and searching BUT have already concluded your faith
so techinically maski pag unsa among itubag nimu, i think it wouldn't matter to you.
however, if you STILL consider yourself searching for answers whethre Jesus is God or not
i sugest you search within the Christian Faith Parameters. you may wanna start getting the POVs
of Christians(people who consider Jesus as God), see how we interpret verses in the Bible
then compare it with whatever your faith and belief stands.
this is just an example
an aetheist can boost his claims about God's inexistence if he will only
search from sites that supports his claims.
in the same way a Muslim would always believe that Jesus was talking about the Prophet muhammad (phuh)
when Jesus talked about a Helper if they would never search and study about the Christian's belief of the HOly Spirit
if you search the Bible and study the Catholic or any Christian doctrines about the Trinity and Jesus being God
for counter-argument rather than a searching soul then you would never know why we believe that Jesus is God.
suggestion lang pud ni ako bai.
'cause we may not be able to throw a parallel argument sa imuhang claims
it could be nga di lang jud mi katubag or we are already exhausted with these type of conversations.
esp if we are talking about these things for the sake of knowing whose belief got the edge.
instead of giving light to some confusions about the RCC practice which i believe what the thread is all about
however, i will at least give you somthing to look into to be fair
John 1:1-14
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[a] it.
There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.
9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
who do you suppose the word is bai? and what did John mean when He said the Word was WITH God and the word IS God?
what did John mean when he said "the word was made flesh"?
my understanding about the Holy Trinity bai
is that It's like the phases of matter( solid,liquid and gas)
let's take WATER for an example
no matter what we call it (ice,water vapor etc) it would still be water as
though it has taken different form in the phases of matter it will always be water.
solid = ice
liquid = regular water
gas= water vapor
Like God, He can be the God of the Universe, as God of the old testament,God of Abraham etc
and be Jesus the Savior in the New Testament(God is the creator of all things figuratively the Father of all creation, therefore when God the form of a servant(man) He Himself in the Character of the Son(Son) became the Son of God(begotten not made)
and GOd can also be the Holy Spirit given to His disciples on Pentecost or to anyone at any time who ackowledges Him.
Father = God
Son = God
Holy Spirit = God
Same God, just taking different forms and Characteristics because He Love us(John3:16)
Without the sacrifice of His Own, mankind will never see Salvation.
Do you recall the verse you qouted about Blind men leading blind men as well?
Man can never save Men. Only God can. if Jesus is the Savior but not God
Jesus will never be enough, like all the covenants and sin atonements in teh old testament
at the end of the day PEOPLE like you and me would always end up breaking the law and sinning towards God
getting tempted and turning towards God..
Hence Jesus said, this is FINAL Covenant.
Satan tempted Jesus knowing that though God but took the form of a Human Being
thinking that Jesus placed Himself in a very vulnerable situation(which in reality, He did)
but Satan didn't know was FAITH,HOPE and LOVE that Jesus(as the son of man) shared with the Father.
because Satan doesn't have them in the First place
Satan knew about the scriptures and can twist their meanings
there are greater things needed than just understanding and knowing bai,
that's where FAITH comes in.
Godspeed
