Kita ko sa star bitaw, but, I knew now na Jupiter diay to after reading this

this thread indeed is a year old. and jupiter's position, i believe, should no longer be the same position as it was a year before.

With some DepEd people, I assisted in letting hundreds of elementary and high school students see Jupiter up close last night, using 3 beginner refractors, at Canitoan National High School in Cagayan de Oro city. It was a challenge to hold steady because the target was at zenith and the mount didn't have a motor, but it was still enjoyable experience for the kids, esp. when they realized they were looking at the real Jupiter and its four moons and not some photo off a page of a book or the internet.



Other targets that evening were the Orion Nebula and bright stars such as Vega, Sirius, and Betelgeuse.
