    How Beautiful is God!
    Linda Ann Henry

In the morning when the dawn begins to break
I watch the sunrise, wake up from sleep,
How beautiful are the colors, red, orange and gold,
I look at the rainbow of light and watch nature come and go.

I watch the flowers as the bees flutter around,
Making new buds of so much beauty,
Only on earth can they be found.
    How beautiful is God,
    To create such a masterpiece,
    His love is so great,
    There is so much peace.

The waterfall and the deep blue sea,
    How beautiful as we sail,
    Fish fly in the air,
    Butterflies fly free,
    How beautiful is Our God,
    Who made all of these.

How beautiful is a new born baby,
    As God is so please,
    Watched by Guiding Angels,
Our Lord, sent them to help us find our way.
How ever long we are here,
    Only God, Himself can say.

    How beautiful is The Father,
    For giving us His son,
    He died in our place,
    How much God loved us
    We are his children, everyone.

    "Quest For God"
    From Swami Vivekananda

O'ver hill and dale and mountain range,
    In temple, church, and mosque,
    In Vedas, Bible, Al Koran
I had searched for Thee in vain.

Like a child in the wildest forest lost
I have cried and cried alone,
"Where art Thou gone, my God, my love?
    The echo answered, "gone."

And days and nights and years then passed
A fire was in the brain,
I knew not when day changed in night
The heart seemed rent in twain.
I laid me down on Ganges's shore,
    Exposed to sun and rain;
With burning tears I laid the dust
    And wailed with waters' roar.

I called on all the holy names
    Of every clime and creed.
"Show me the way, in mercy, ye
Great ones who have reached the goal."

Years then passed in bitter cry,
    Each moment seemed an age,
Till one day midst my cries and groans
    Some one seemed calling me.

A gentle soft and soothing voice
That said 'my son' 'my son',
That seemed to thrill in unison
With all the chords of my soul.

I stood on my feet and tried to find
    The place the voice came from;
I searched and searched and turned to see
    Round me, before, behind,
Again, again it seemed to speak
    The voice divine to me.
In rapture all my soul was hushed,
    Entranced, enthralled in bliss.

    A flash illumined all my soul;
The heart of my heart opened wide.
O joy, O bliss, what do I find!
My love, my love you are here
And you are here, my love, my all!

And I was searching thee -
From all eternity you were there
    Enthroned in majesty!
From that day forth, wherever I roam,
    I feel Him standing by
O'ver hill and dale, high mount and vale,
    Far far away and high.

The moon's soft light, the stars so bright,
    The glorious orb of day,
He shines in them; His beauty - might -
    Reflected lights are they.
The majestic morn, the melting eve,
    Teh boundless billowing sea,
In nature's beauty, songs of birds,
I see through them - it is He.

    When dire calamity seizes me,
The heart seems weak and faint,
All natures seems to crush me down,
    With laws that enver bend.
Meseems I hear Thee whispering sweet
My love, "I am near", "I am near".
My heart gets strong. With thee, my love,
    A thousand deaths no fear.
Thou speakest in the mother's lay
    Thous shuts the babies eye,
When innocent children laugh and play,
    I see Thee standing by.

When holy friendship shakes the hand,
    He stands between them too;
He pours the nectar in mother's kiss
    And the baby's sweet "mama".
Thou wert my God with prophets old,
All creeds do come from Thee,
The Vedas, Bible, and Koran bold
    Sing Thee in Harmony.

"Thou art," Thou art" the Soul of souls
In the rushing stream of life.
"Om tat sat om." Thou art my God,
My love, I am thine, I am thine.

    Hearing God's Note
    by Theresa Marie Gandhi

The who, the what, the where, the when
each part of a whole but not the end.
The how, the why, we want to know
change and make better, we really want to show
the root, the knot, the key, the ah ha
open the imagination and away we go.
Figuring it out, so we may know
just exactly, which way to go.
How to know it, just exactly what is?
Go within and ask your Whiz
that essence so fleeting, to catch the drift
set the net of your mind
    on silence and pause
    as a breathe of God
    the speak and the spoke
to listen within and hear God’s note!
Softly spoken, a whisper, a dream
a vision, a sound, a knowing of home.
    How specifically to turn within
for golden silence, that opens God’s eye
that inner seeing, mind’s video screen
between your eyes and a bit up high
not in outer space but totally within
is where you go, to get the inner grin.
Each is unique in how it comes through
but silencing the mind, you just got to do
for to listen to God’s soft breathe
you must shut-up, it’s not spoken twice.

The startling coalescence of contrarieties that you find in Jesus
    James Stewart

He was the meekest and lowliest of all the sons of men: yet He said that He would come on the clouds of heaven in the glory of God.

He was so austere that evil spirits and demons cried out in terror at His coming: yet He was so genial and winsome and approachable that the children loved to play with Him, and the little ones nestled in His arms; and His company in the innocent gaiety of a village wedding was like the sunshine. No one was ever half so kind or compassionate to sinners: yet no one ever spoke such red-hot, scorching words about sin.

He would not break the bruised reed, and His whole life was love: yet on one occasion He demanded of the Pharisees how they expected to escape the damnation of hell.

He was a dreamer of dreams and a seer of visions: yet for sheer stark naked realism He has all our self-styled “realists” beaten.

He was the servant of all, washing the disciples’ feet : yet masterfully He strode into the Temple, and the hucksters and traders fell over one another in their mad rush to get away from the fire they saw blazing in His eyes.

He saved others: yet at the last, Himself He would not save. There is nothing in history like the union of contrasts that confronts you in the Gospels. The mystery of Jesus is the mystery of a divine personality.

    You Take Me There
    Ralph Quinonez

As I search for your Saving grace,
I know one day I'll see your face.
Waiting is the hardest thing for me,
I know with you I will be so free.

You take me up and lay me back down,
I know with you I am and will be found.
I seek you each day and seek your name,
I am nothing without you or your Fame.

Waking with you, you give me power,
To make it another day and another hour.
Learning your word is oh so smart,

I love you Lord with all my heart.
You gave up for me all your life,
We could not stop all the strife.
    Everyday I will always say,
I long to return to you one day.

Love me Lord and keep me strong,
Without you I can never get alone.
So hear my prayers as bring me peace,
My sins Oh Lord will slowly cease.

My heart is heavy and I am weak,
You love is strong as you speak.
Keep me safe at comforts arms,
Give me grace without any harm.

Give me eternity and take me home,
That day I will never be alone.

The Jesus of your spirit is inside you now.
Ask that one for help, but don't ask for body-things...

    Don't ask Moses for provisions
that you can get from Pharaoh.

Don't worry so much about livelihood.
Your livelihood will turn out as it should.
    Be constantly occupied instead
    with listening to God.

    Rumi, Mathnawi II:450-454
