^ bro, sa equivalent memory lane bandwidth number lang na the same. pero, in actual processing power, mag depende na's architecture sa GPU itself... mura na'g nag drive ka ug 4 lanes na road at constant speed... then mag drive-through ka's jollibee or mcdo. dili na all the time na the same sila ug speed pag serve... but, naa na sila'y target time hinoon... in short, ang processing sa crew or set of crews during that moment ang mag dictate sa actual processing speed...

now, balik ta's GPU. if hinay or old architecture, hinay pud ang processing power. if new, aw, pas2x kaayo kay daghan naman improvements ang gi implement sa die sa GPU... para kusog ang processing power nya... but in reality, mag overlap ang performance sa mga GPUs from the latest & its 1 yr old sibling... but this is true sa entry level segment or offering nila sa new architecture to the mid end level sa previous architecture. but not all the time though. once sa mid to high end level sa new architecture na... then its a whole new ball game...

aw so meaning a new breed of ddr5 nga 128 bit wins over old school ddr3s nga 256 bit? sakto ba?

    Not exactly..
If they are of the same architecture, same ROPs, same texture units, same processor clock speed, but differ only in memory clock and bitrate, sure go ahead get the cheaper.. But most of the time they are not. Architecture dictates a larger part of performance.

If we compare the GTX580 (4000mhz, 384 bit) vs GTX660ti (6000mhz, 192bit), we can assume that the 580 with its 192.4gbps memory bandwidth has an advantage over the latter's 144gbps. But in reality they are equal in overall performance bec the Kepler architecture takes over and augments its handicap through coding (or maybe more efficient handling of programs)

But when faced with an application which calls for every last bit of memory performance available (where architecture cannot overcome anymore- like High MSAA Arkham City) the 192bit now shows its weakness..

Its really case to case basis but as a general rule with video cards: THE MORE EXPENSIVE, THE BETTER

not all the time bro... depende gyud sa architecture as what bro keropi explains... para dili ka mag libog inig purchase nimo ug GPU... kani lang ai... mao ni akoang "rule of thumb" kay dili man bottomless akoang money pud dri... hehehehe... share nko dri...

for my own use, "i will always purchase the latest mid level GPU"... but, mag pili ko'g maayo. usually, for games, if the title will support SLI or Crossfirex, most of the time but not always in every game... 2 mid level GPUs (latest architecture) would beat their big bro (single GPU of the same architecture). mao ni akoang na conclude sa akoang pag research before making the actual purchase... price wise, depende sa brand & variation (stock or OC) pud na i-purchase... and not all games would support dual GPUs pud (usually, mga older titles ni sila)... pero, ang mga new releases, mo support naman. mas maayo gani ang mag dual GPUs sa new games kay mas powerful ang system... naa man mo gawas pud na mga patches or new driver releases para ma optimize ug maayo ang GPU sa game...

mao sad gani akong nahuna huna.an boss example lang katong HD 7770 dba pde man siya xfire? aside sa barato siya karon mo samot siya ka barato in the future price down so pde ka maka xfire and you will no have problems sa game performance kita man ko ug review sa xfire ani nilang duha nindot kaau oi...
