    Default Re: CIT-U grammatically incorrect?

It is not CITU, it's CIT-U.

That has been a long debate with the Alumni, the CHED and the owner of the school itself. The officers of the alumni have been pushing to maintain the "CIT" letters since it has been known in the entire phil producing Top notchers and great graduates especially during its great early days. Moreover, it's awkward to tell to your children when they ask the question, "Asa diay ka graduate Mama/Papa?". Proud kaayo ka sa imo alma-matter labi na ni graduate ka with flying colors and a board top notcher nya suddenly wala nay kaila in the next generation.

MIT was bought by millionaires after the Mapua Family decided to sell the school due to conflicts with it's heirs. The new owner decided to change the name but the alumni bombard them with protest with same reason. MIT is still MIT even though it's already a university.

Why man inyong e compare ang MIT sa CIT nga MIT still stands for Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Imong geh explain sa imong previous thread nga today, CIT means nothing, nil, zilch. Sakto ba akong pag sabot?

bai @cloud i think MIT ila pasabot is Mapua not Massachusetts
and i do understand the point now regarding the retaining of CIT as a name and not as an acroname
    its purely for business reasons
they dont want to appear as "new or start-up university"

Ang FEATI University sa Manila kay previously Far Eastern Aeronautical and Technical Institute ug mas known siya sa una as FEATI pero gi-attach ang word University when it gain the said status. On another thing kon mag change ug acronym from CIT to any other form ang maapektuhan ug maayo kay ang CITAA sa America.

    Taken from wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Institute):

In some countries institutes can be part of a university or other institutions of higher education, either as a group of departments or an autonomous educational institution without a traditional university status such as a "university Institute".
^ It's just that CIT University attached university to her name, not following the tradition. Sa una bitaw nga dili pa university, ang uban sige ingon nga dili at par with a university status.

Also, CIT University is not the only institute with the word 'university' attached to her name.
    See some:
RMIT University - Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University (Australia)
VIT University - Vellor Institute of Technology University (India)
UOIT - University of Ontario Institute of Technology (Canada)
UIT of Velizy - University Institute of Technology of Vélizy (France)
WVU Tech - West Virginia University Institute of Technology (US)
