that still doesn't justify it, at least in my own view..
one good explanation would be that, what we consider as good and bad are just stimulus for survival in a genetic level, after all that's what we all are made up of,. when you are punched for no reason, your natural reaction would be anger therefore you either confront him or punch back, when someone will try to harm the people close to you often your reaction would be to protect them in whatever way you can, now are these reaction good or bad?. i dont think we can label them as such, our genes which dictates us are merely just trying to survive.. Altruism is also one form of tactic for genetic survival.. it is best explained in the book, The Selfish Gene...
So good and bad for me doesn't have an absolute form, it is just a result of both human altruistic and selfish nature and therefore forming a foundation for it would be unnecessary..
rightful and just?.. uo oi, kai kung unsai gihimo mu reflect jud bya... sauna lahi, karon lahi, lahi ang view sa uban tao sauna, lahi sad ron... pwede man gane wa kai religion.. pwede di ka mu adto sa simbahan... basta naa lang gyud kai ginoo... usa mana sa naka gubot, ang religion... rightful ug just... i guess, it is..
wala koi nahibaw-an kaayo.... so kung mu ana ka nga wala koi right nga mu judge, imuha sad na... pero that's how i see and understand... if only religion could give me something that would change my view on them.... I rather dig my thesis report than religion..
by the time nga naa silay consciousness sa panghitabo, kaybaw na sila unsai dili sakto.. bahalag wala na siya ka eskwela, di ba xa kaybaw mu sulat ug mubasa... everyday naay mga experience ana.. nya imposible kaayo dili na siya ma influence..
people don't understand? unsa mana? like dili nature nako?
wala man gyud makadiktar kung unsai angay nato buhaton... no man has the same form of tongue, rawness of emotion, and level of intellect... kai lain2x man ta ug influences...
naa koi nadunggan usa ka priest, ana xa, the more nga muhatag ka ug offering, the more nga muabot ang blessing...
tsk, para nako, okay raman dili mu offer, mag pray lng unta diretso niya... dapat jud diay naa ning ani...tsk..
uo bai peace ta, di man pud kaayo ko maka apil2x ug discuss diri kai layo ra ko'g knowledge sa mga tao nga naa diri...
ang akoa lng kai sa akong nahibaw-an.. ug nasabtan...
salaam alaikum bai
You have a point here and don't get me wrong, I agree with you on a few points but defining morality as something that comes from a genetic predisposition for self preservation is still debatable.
I could go on a huge discussion about this topic but for the sake of my sanity, I'm just gonna provide a link to a video from someone who shares the same world view as mine.
I recommend you watch this video. It's quite long but provides a lot of insight into why Morality doesn't have anything to do with religion and explains the root of the human precondition to strive for the morally good.
Treatise on Morality. - YouTube
I also recommend theists to watch this video and try to debunk Scott's arguments. It will be quite entertaining to watch what arguments they will come up with next.![]()
im not sure if i get what you are trying to ask me or if you get what i was trying to say in my last post..
morality is also dictated and shaped by culture, so if haum sa culture sa usa ka lugar ang usa ka butang, ma consider na nto nga good for that certain community, therefore morality is a necessity, some sort of a way inorder for individuals can get along with each other for their own survival, we make laws to establish what is considered good but that in itself is not absolute, always na mag usab2 through time to fit a certain need of the community, kay as that community grows ang need ana nila mag usab2 mansad...
so if you'll ask me asa nko gi base akong idea about morality, well i say sa need sa community..
i always loved your video links,. this provided for me an in depth logical explanation for morality,.. but still there's a thin line between what we consider as moral and immoral, and i was not quite satisfied with his explanations, although he have a very good explanation, hell i even liked the video hehehe..
For theism belief, yes pwedi kay sa Theism, the law is Given by a powerful being that knows all things. So basically the laws followed by theist is not his own but provided by a supreme being or creator.
For the concept of Individualism, murag nonsense kaayu if musunod ka sa isa ka balaod nya ikaw personally di ganahan.
