This is true and if you notice, the oligarchs never complain about minimum wage increases, because they know that at worse, it doesn't affect them, and more likely, will increase their profits due to transfer of profits from exporters and OFWs to their bottomline.

It is usually the export federations that are most upset by minimum wages, and with good reason. They are the primary earners of foreign reserves, along with the OFWs. All minimum wage increases do is transfer wealth from the exporters to the oligarchs who own the malls and local distribution system. So I believe this is right on track...

Minimum Wage increases are not the solution man gyud.

The government should control/counter the effects of the economy and not give out our hard earned taxes to other countries para lang pang show. Excuse me ha, dili lalim mangitag kwarta. Kada sweldo, diritso gud.na deductkan atong sweldo ug withholding tax, the rationale being nga para cgurado daw naay makuha ang gobyerno in terms of taxes.

And another thing, these outrageous claims nga dapat Php90 to Php120 ang dapat ma.increase sa minimum wage is often confused with the minimum living cost. Layu ra kaau. The country should establish and implement strong economic reforms that are maintained well beyond the term of any administration.

Minimum wage increase isn't buying power. Buying power comes from economic development through good government. Crab mentality won't make us rich.

what is this prevalent mind set that only an increase in minimum wage can improve the quality of life of the common laborer? This is poor mans thinking.... when the common tao rejoices an increase in minimum wage without the necessary increase in their productivity, there is a serious injury to the economy of the society as a whole which will not manifest overtly, and most often not easily felt.

High cost of living is not a valid reason for increase of minimum wage, since wage is part of the costing of all products available in the market. Price adjustments will take into effect within a span of a few months. A never ending cycle of perpetual clamor of increase in wage, and perpetual increase in cost of living will ensue.
