I've read some stories there in OFW forums regarding Middle East nurses. Ambot na unsa nato which prompts me to post it here nga idiscourage nako. Kadtong moinsist nga mogama ug fake COE so go ahead pero if lucky ang applicant nga makagawas, maila ra gihapon sa competency skills, problema gihapon murag na ilad ang employer. Much better man gud kung na.acquire na ug training, saktong experience kanang STAFF NURSE position na jud para inig abot didto dili na magkalisod, minimum na ang supervision then confident na motrabaho.

Unless if you will be absorb due to some circumstances (e.g. retirement of baby boomers/next in line/staff nurses leaving for abroad). It will take several years to be absorb/promote as a staff nurse, so sacrifice and be patient. Gain much experience as you can. It's a process of manpooling due to oversaturated nurse trainees.

Most foreign employers require staff nurses with 2 to 3 years paid hospital experience. However. if you wish to apply immigrant visas for skilled workers to such countries like Quebec, Canada, NZ,UK and AUS. Some provinces will require you only 6 months to 1 year hospital experience either volunteer/staff depending on their assessment points. Good luck on your nursing endeavors.
Thanks for the advice. Hope I can get more advice from u.

I really don't want to encourage volunteer nurses mugama ug fake COE para lang makagawas. As what I've said, sacrifice ug volunteer to gain experience para mapromote ug staff. If na offend ka, I apologize. I don't brag or tell nga kamao ko tanan. Pasabot nako ana kung nakapass mo ug fake COE didto gawas ayaw pa halata nga volunteer ra diay dapat molihok as competent staff nurse kay supervisan mo ana ug preceptor. Daghan nasangit ana kay dili pa kamao. That's why gi implement na ug concurrent curriculum sa US and now Canada. God Bless.

And ang mo train nimo fellow filipinos rman pud ghpn.. Dli jud ko mo tuo anang dli kamao oi, cgro pg first ra, pero I think for a month training.. Grabe nasad ug di kamao..

I think naningkamot man cgro ni tanan ma staff ngari naglisod lng jud ug sulod ug dghn lng jud au mga RN.. So mo settle lng sa ta ug volunteer as long as naa ra ghpn ka sa field..

OT: Ok, I respect your opinion. By the way, I'm a bro. IMO, It's not truly discouragement but a realistic point of view and sort of challenge. That's why I encourage nurses not to lose hope but sacrifice until "ma absorb" as a staff. For those who don't like to pursue their career due to some reasons (practicality sake/no financial support). I told them to prefer career change. There's couple of options to consider eluding from the plight of unemployment.

Yes, I've been there in the Middle East and ended my contract. My application for US specifically in Ca was abandoned and denied due to concurrent issues. I've tried for immigration but on pending status. I'm still working as CI (Clinical Instructor) in one of the institutions but I'm gearing up to apply for another hospital experience or go back to my previous employer. I've heard foreign employers today need CURRENT hospital experience as staff nurse.

OnT: Let's go back to the topic of the thread, any hospitals there who accept volunteer nurses?

Exactly, inorder to be productive we have to work than to be stagnate. I have great respect of both jobs- Volunteer nurses who are dedicated in nursing passion and nurses working in call centers to boost economy of the BPO industry. Both have vast learning experiences towards health care. We can't blame them coz it's their choices.

You're referring to those nurses who applied those past years BUT TODAY due to oversupply of nurses most foreign employers in the Middle East need only staff nurses (mostly female nurses) with 2- 3 years paid experience and must pass the required exams such as Prometric/ HAAD/ MOH. I have classmates and friends in NZ, Au, CAN, Ireland, USA. Some were successful RNs before the retrogression and those who were affected, most of them worked as caregivers and in the nursing homes.
