PAABTIK:
- Jog . Jog . Jog . It's all about cardio . You may not be as natural fast as Allen Iverson like during his glory days , but with the right training and diet will make you faster than any other players on your rec league . It's not about being fast throughout the game , but how fast are you during the middle of a 3rd and 4th quarter running around back and forth .
- Dribbling techniques . Pick up a basketball even if you're not in the basketball court . If you are a late teenager or an adult , this may be difficult for you : go to school/work and dribble a basketball . Do a crossover on a stranger or a pole on the sidewalk , behind the back ,and etc . It's all about trying to make those dribbling SKILLS becomes natural .
- Are you willing to go for a loose-ball ? If not , then you should . It's a big misconception that a player is fast because he's naturally fast . Iverson may have born with that kind of talent . But being 'fast' is about reacting to a situation right away . Ex. When a player tries to screen you , you should be smart and fast enough to react by following your 'man' by escaping the screen or yell for a switch .
- Kinesiology . As a player , you should know what kind of player you are . You don't want to play something that's hard and struggling for you . You should play whatever is comfortable for you . If you're fast , then you should be able to drive to the basket more (with practice of course) . If not , then you should opt to shoot more often . But don't let those weakness becomes your burden , you can practice them inorder to improve . During Vince Carter's first few seasons in the NBA , he was just regarded as a dunker . But during practice , he worked on his shooting with Morris Peterson . Then later , he has the ability to make some game-winning (losses too) shots as a result .
- In sports , skills > natural talent
PATAAS LAYAT:
- Vertical leap . Do leg workouts . Go to the internet or the Fitness & Health section here to learn more about leg workouts . Then there's this thing called a Plyometric exercise - do that too . Also , NBA Fit showed D-Wade's plyometric exercise with Tim Grover but the video didn't give key details on how to do it properly . If you're looking for a high intensity workouts to have a GREAT results (like D-Wade's) , then I should advise you to hire a personal trainer at a fitness club .
PADAKO LAWAS:
- Proper diet . A typical athletic guy have 4-6 meals and follow a healthy diet . You should have eggs , cheese , whole wheat bread for breakfast . Then around 9-10 AM , you should have like 1 scoop of protein powder . Then at lunch you should have like pork/chicken/fish with rice or pasta . Then around 3-6PM you should have another snack whether a banana , apple , spaghetti or whatever healthy food you can think of . At dinner , you should have like steak/fish/chicken/pork with rice or pasta .
- WORKOUT REGULARLY ! Just because you successfully have all 3 you want to improve doesn't mean you can stop working out . Make it part of your lifestyle . Let me tell you , if you do stop , your body will go back to where you are right now . This is not a lie .
- Invest on a protein powder . I recommend Syntha-6 .
- Again - just in case you forgot already - proper diet . Eat healthy foods .
