Waterfront to Waterfront Route...CONFIRMED!

Citigym Halloween Run extends route


Participants in the 32-kilometer race of the Citigym Halloween Run on Oct. 28 will be facing a tough challenge as the race route takes them from the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino in Lahug, Cebu City to the Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino Mactan in Lapu-Lapu City and back.

This was announced by Citigym sales and marketing manager Julia Siscar yesterday during the launching of the race at the Aegean Room of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino. With her were fitness director Anne Marie Manubag and race director Joel Baring.

“We finally realized what we have been planning for over the years, which is extending our distance all the way to the Waterfront Mactan,” said Siscar. “We want to let the runners know that this is not just a Halloween run but also a Waterfront run as well.”

The race is the seventh overall organized by Citigym and the third Halloween-themed run of the 23-hour fitness center located inside the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

This is the first time that the organizers will be using this 32k route. Aside from the 32k, the race will also have 21k, 10k and 5k distances.

” We already had a test run and it’s a very good route. It’s very challenging and enjoyable. There is no need to worry about the traffic because we will be deploying traffic enforcers and a lot of marshalls along the way and we will be putting up 16 water stations and a fire truck,” said Baring.

Although this year’s race won’t make runners pass through a cemetery, organizers are still encouraging runners to run with their best Halloween costumes.

“We want to encourage the runners to bring their family because we want this be a family day. We will have a lot of booths and exciting freebies for runners aside from our sumptuous breakfast,” added Siscar.

Part of this run’s proceeds will be given to the Junior Chamber International-Zugbuana’s charity of choice.

A pumpkin shaped medal will be awarded to the winners in each category.

Registration fee is pegged at P400 for the 5k and 10k, P600 for the 21k and P750 for the 32k. Registration can be done at Toby’s SM City Cebu, RUNNR Ayala Center Cebu and Citigym at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

Gahapon during our IRC Busay RUN , some of us mentioned having a Christmas Party sometime soon this coming December...wala pay exact date or venue ang nahisgutan 'coz it was just a passing conversation between some IRC peers

But anyway, hopefully madayon unta kay maayo man gyud sa usa ka grupo (bahalag gamay ug uyamot nga running group) nga naa gyud happy & special memorable gatherings during Christmas time....and So, this early palang maayo unta kun ato naning hinay-hinayan ug plano with regards to Date/Time/Place & Financial expenses......Dili lang gud kaayo nato "i-Super BONGA kay dili raba ta mga datu diri....aaaw ambot lang pud kaha ninyo hap, basta ako cgurado kong DILI gyud ko datu.heheheh.


Another thing that came up to my mind just last night while I was thinking about how we should go about our X-mas Party is this:

....I plan to share my meager blessings with some homeless street people this coming Christmas Seasons,,,,,,Ma kakita man gud ko anang mga pobre kaayo nga mga tawo nga anha nlang mag tulganan sa kilid2x sa dalan while I go on early dawn jogging or biking, (naka bantay man siguro pud mo ana nga mga klase sa taw....dili ni sila mga hubog hap.)...Plano unta ko nga bisag kausa ra sa usa ka tuig mka pa-ambit man lang ko nila bahalag gamay..ginagmay ra gyud ako ma-share kay mao raman pud akong makaya BUT I'm hoping that some of my IRCmates who "might" be sharing the same sentiments will combine forces with me regarding this.



The Plan:

1. Nindot unta kun feeding program style...pero kulang man ta sa manpower labi na kun ako ra gyud mu SUICIDE ani Bwahahaha.....so maayo kun packed "ready-to-eat" meals nlang or bundle of joy style,,,then I'll just randomly But discreetly pick and choose some poor street people (family) nga makitan nako nga nanga tulog ra gyud intawn sa ilalom sa mga tulay, gutter or sa asa na lang nang so-oka.


2. Kay lage limitado raman tawn kaayo ako mahatag...limitado ra pud ang mahatagan,,,,so mag depende ra gyud sa ako matigum nga budget........So, para dili kaayo ko madak-an mag sugod nako ug ti-gum P25 per day until the 2nd or 3rd week sa December, siguro by then mu-abot nana ug P2k ++...unya nlang dayon ko mamalit ug unsay mapalit anan nga budget para bundle of joy.

Let me clarify this one, dili ni sabton nga kun dili mo muapil dautan namu nga tawo DILI intawn ha...DILI.... "coz we have our own different ways of sharing our blessing & giving help, some people do it secretly in their own personal ways, ang uban kay nagahatag sa ilang tabang pinaagi sa mga pag-ampo ug serbisyo, none of which are far better than the other kay parehas ra gyud ning tanan sa mata sa Gino-o as long as it is done heartily.

Anywayz,,, I would like to share this opportunity to my fellow IRC's in hope that we can consider it as our running group Christmas Season Project....pero dili ni pinugsananay
