Default What are the ways to prevent or lessen [at least] road accident[s] on motorcycles

    Hello istoryans!

I am not sure if we already have this topic here and if we do please feel free to delete this one mods.

    Here is my topic:
What are the best ways to prevent or at least lessen road accident[s] on motorcycles nowadays?

I know that your safety solely depends on your driving skills and attitude on the road but I just want to hear your thoughts on this matter.
I wanted to further enhance my driving skills, learn from other people experiences and become a responsible rider in the metro. Anyhow, I have been driving my first bike for almost 6 months now and thankfully, I never experience any road accidents [I did not say/put 'yet' because I am trying my best not to experience it ever. Hehe!] and I am grateful to God for his guidance and divine protection every time I ride. I have been driving my first bike for almost 6 months now.

I believe that accident happens when we least expect it. Most people say it is inevitable for motorcycles not to get involve in accidents. Some argued that you will become 'expert rider' if you never experience spills on the road. I beg to disagree on this thought.

I notice as well that most motorcycle accidents nowadays are caused by 'human errors' like reckless driving, driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, over-speeding wrong decision making, etc. We seldom hear accidents due to mechanical or engine failure.

What are the things that helped you avoid a certain road accident when you are at the brink of it?

Please share your experience and/or best practice[s] as it may be helpful to other motorcycle riders.

    Two words. "Defensive riding"

For me, mechanical or engine failure still leads to "human error". The lack of periodic maintenance of the owner..

always anticipate the jeep to suddenly go left when you`re at the right side...

nagsugud ko drive ug motor when i was still in high school. pero i just started to ride motorcycle in almost everday basis in the past five years palang ug nakaexperience ko kausa palang ka serious accident when i was hit by a lady driver recklessly beating the red light over the intersection. good thing i only got a minor bruise in my left leg. kung wala pa ko naka lito lapid moves merged with chuck norris reflexes maybe bali sa ako right leg ang makuha naku ato. defensive driver jud ko bisan toud ma speed freak ko panagsa pero naa jud koy limit. i learned two things that day. ayaw pag una-una ug sibat sa intersection kay basin ma igo ka simbako sa mga reckless driver nga mahilig mag beating the red light ug whatever happeneds ayaw jud pag panic accident only happens with in seconds so be sure to have a clear mind to execute any moves that might spare whoever life is at stake.

    Agree..

Therefore, based on your first statement, would you agree if i'll say "All road accidents are preventable"?

this is just one side of the story...

there's already a post about another theory...

posted by.... jpcrown "human error na. iyang Dad 50years of driving experience. Therefore, iyang dad ni drive sa montero at the age of 50+18= 68. So, at the age of 68 you cant always get to discount that our brains begin to deteriorate. prone na sa mistakes.. not the car i guess kay cila ray nireklamo. Monteros are selling like hotcakes this time less ang reklamo."

his dad shouldn't be driving at all... that's how to prevent it...
coz the age of his dad shouldn't be driving anymore.....

all material/mechanical things in this world are made by humans... so if something happens it's always human error... whether the maintaining part or the producing part had an error... all accidents are preventable... humans just forget it sometimes...
