Would it still involved a speculation of feeling superior over you as an ordinary member ?
If you do know what condescending means, you will realize I am not speculating but stating a fact. Where was I not being civil in my posts? And by being condescending, it is you who is behaving like a minor and I would not want to go down to that level. Now I have more respect for 'ordinary' members' opinions and posts as these are spontaneous and do reflect their thoughts without the air of superiority. Posts that you sometimes also rebuke, just like FAQ's above.
1st , I am not a lawyer for Msgr Garcia , but what I can share is that , what happened in the US was already settled . He was expelled from the Dominican order , settled the cases with the victims amicably for compensations I/we dont know. Why it was reopened , I /we dont know but what we both know if we read the news reports , he was suspended since June of 2012 after the investigation went all the way to the Holy See . Not your CBCP por dios mio .
You seem to be wrong with the information you are sharing for why would vatican 'suspend' this person only recently and be requesting for documents and information on this case (as explained by Archbishop Palma) 2 decades after the incident? What is to reopen if it was never closed in the first place? Will you be taking the same line as the CBCP who is now saying this is because of the RH Bill?
Now before you say its a RAPE CASE , make sure it was a RAPE CASE. Rape and molestation carries different definitions.
If it involves minors, it is statutory rape. But what difference does that make? They are both wrong in the eyes of man and in the eyes of God. And it should be awfully wrong too in the eyes of the church. Even after 2 decades of coverup.
Unless this meant for something else , I really want to know it .
he leads a faithful flock to a 'supposed' moral path. His position has a lot to do with his errors
You interpret this as an accusation against the church? come on...
Why dont you reflect on yourself and how you make comments and approaches towards issues that involves the church. Then let me know what twisted interpretation I just did.
Again , interpret this for me :
On the other hand, it pains me to see droves of 'faithful' still awed by these kind of religious leaders. I wonder how they will defend such behaviour.
If you feel comfortable that as a faithful you were being led by such a leader as this disgraced priest, so be it. But that would hurt me too and I mean that like I mean it to many more including some within my family.
Who are condoning here ? Spill out names. Ikaw mismo nag sulti all the way up to Vatican yet now , Vatican is investigating on him. Again , you lack reflection. You have a habit of nailing it right away without checking if its wood or concrete . So ang lansang nimo would not be certain of mo lahos or mabali.
Society wrongdoings are rampant and the norm as we see and experienced it, ma highlight ang sa religious community because they are not supposed to be doing it but then , the human beings we are , subjected to human errors and irresponsible actions , maoy makita na klaro. Would you be saying this all over again if ang nahitabo na issue karon both molestation and smuggling of ivories was done by a lawyer ? An engineer ? A physician perhaps ? Would you be criticizing them how you criticized the church ?
YES or NO ra na.
No. Unless they (the professionals) start receiving confessions from priests or leading people to a moral path.
We are only talking about a person here. Msgr Garcia and nobody else. Unlike news reports today , if Archbishop Palma said something also , then you can talk something about him. But what happened here , you already spilled out the spoiler you are unsure of. If we follow that understanding of yours , it will go back to your idea that "he leads a faithful flock to a 'supposed' moral path. " , I dont see an enemy there. His errors and wrongdoings did not at all influence me .
It may not have influenced you, but you are not the only catholic here.
@IneedAhotel in a similar thread:
Honestly, this is one of the reason why i don't go to church anymore. Because the people who lead the mass sometimes are no longer credible. Before I attended masses every Sunday and attend a charismatic group every Wednesday. But after all these controversies, I have doubts in the church I'm in-but never the GOD that I worshiped. I'd rather do good things to other people & share my blessings. I make sure that I don't cause any pain to people and pray to God directly because He is anywhere.
Not everyone think or behave like you do regarding issues like this. You wouldn't stop them from expressing themselves, right?
Then isolate Msgr Garcia from your generalization and focus on him otherwise , we will go back to this :
Dissociate him from what? As a priest and now monsignor, he leads a faithful flock to a 'supposed' moral path. His position has a lot to do with his errors, so dispute that.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't see where I am 'generalizing' in this statement. In fact, the 'priest and now monsignor' specifically points to the man involved in this controversy, so how can that be a generalization?
A few leaders who probably involved themselves allegedly by covering up , harboring him etc does not equate to the RELIGION , the CHURCH , the MEMBERS , the FLOCKS etc. If that was your only post the moment I said about " talk about CHRIS GARCIA and his actions / activities associated with SMUGGLING . The church , faithfuls has nothing to do with the trouble he is facing right now." , it would not be this long and a little bit irrelevant.
Am I making this difficult for you? You can just ignore my comments if it does. I am only replying to your comments but am expressing myself too for others who read and follow this thread.
Look who is talking here . Dont you think you are not ANNOYING too ?
So now I am getting into your nerves? Perhaps it is because of your biases. But nonetheless, that is irrelevant to the issue here.
Nagpaka importante baya ka dodong . Thats the very reason why you deserved a YATI ra KUYAWA na gud nimo reply.
Such statements are unbecoming of a moderator. It is too subjective and judgemental and I or any istoryan expressing our opinions do not deserve such disrespect. How can we expect balance in moderation if by expressing our opinions the moderator says we are trying to make ourselves feel important? You of all people should know it is basic in fora like this to 'attack the post and not the poster'
