We sometimes doubt our salvation tungod sa atong mga binuhatan. But if we have this genuine faith and a true relationship with God, for me it is assertive to say that our salvation is assured.
I believe in 2 types of salvation:
1) Present - we are saved from the bondage of evil/sin. The time we sincerely accepted Christ as our personal saviour, the holy spirit will work in us, though it is a process transformation but we will then become a new creature (2 Corinthians 5:17). We are no longer comfortable living in Sin...yes we fall but God is there to help us (Psalms 37:23,24) to mold us into a person he wanted us to be (Ephesians 2:10).
2) Future - The person who believes in Christ is said to receive "everlasting" or "eternal life." (1 John 5:13)
If, in order to be saved, you believe you have to live a faithful life and not sin to keep your salvation then you are trusting in your good work of faithful living to keep you saved. Surely every true child of God wants to live for the Lord and live a faithful life. The majority of Christians will live in varying degrees a faithful life. But their faithfulness is not keeping them saved as that is the work of God. This truth is clearly stated in 1 Peter 1:3-5 which says a believer is not kept by our good works, but by the power of God Himself:
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."
