I would recommend you to do a 1:2 Pull-Push ratio because most of the guys who are new to lifting like to work the "beach" muscles, that is, the muscles you see at the front. (chest, abs - debatable kay gamit kaayo ni siya, arms.) They almost always don't do enough exercises for the back muscles, which are more important dapat i.develop because the back is weaker naturally (referring to the spine.) Almost all the beginners I see in the gym have a very forward shoulder, which would imply a very strong anterior, weak posterior.
My point here is that I know a lot of beginners like their chest muscles, beach muscles but they should never forget the more important back muscles. Once you've got them both equaled out, it's safe to say that you should train at a 1:1 ratio, because like Newton said, "for every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction." (anterior/posterior)
