Having problems with Mitsubishi Montero's turbo timer??!!

yow! guys, do you encounter problems like; (while turbo timer is set to ON)
1. auto lock while the engine is running, leaving you outside
2. alarms, while your inside the vehicle
3. when shift to reverse and back to park or drive, either 1 or 2 activates

I went to Mitsu CASA have it checked, they said just turn it off 'til we find a solution...and I said like, WHAT?? I paid for this, to just turn it off?....and the tech guy burburburblahblahblah!

anyways, have you encountered this?

Im planning to have it refunded, I have it for two years now.

Probably a worn out soleniod, or a blown fuse, turbo timers are great in protecting turbo but we dont use our turbo too much here in cebu cuz no roads for it, i just manually time my engine aroung 1min before i shut it off just too let the hot air out of the manifold.

One question lang, is the turbo timer after market? Or is it an option in your vehicle from casa? If aftermarket then probably the guys in mitsu have no way in diagnosing your problem from the timer,

so mo work rna ang concerns 1-3 sir if nka ON ang turbo timer? ky mura mn og na grounded sa alarm ang mga issues. like sa auto-lock, and sa mo alarm..

ako i-advise nila is to wait for a minute lang inig abot ninyo sa inyong adtoan, or while waiting, mang hipos mo sa mga things nimo inside the car, then turn off na dayon f u think ni 1 minute na kapin.

pero nindot ni imo issue sir, murag new ko ani. hehehe.. I could somehow or probably learn from this.

kapalit sad mi ug mitsu na car but our agent insisted not to install turbo timer. naa man intercooler ang engine, dli man sad cguro over 100 km/h ang dagan cge.

nope, it comes with the car sir. The truth is they really don't know how to diagnose such problem, they told me to wait until they come up with a solution. But the question is when? its been a year now since that problem came up!

sa mitsu mandaue ko nag purchase sa akong unit, they said (9months ago pa) nga 2 pmi kbuok naa ingn ani na problem. sakto imu ingun ug ni @kemalzeppy nga manually time nlng jud.

i think the new diesel engines that are out now particularly with the monteros, they dont need Turbo timers anymore. They said bcoz its already vgt (i dont know what it means).

for me noh, the main purpose for the TURBO TIMER is to make sure that the TURBO CHARGER is at same spinning rate of the engine (which is at idle) right before you turn it off.

Turbo Chargers need to have lubricants on its bearings so to make sure dli madaot dayon. since gamay rmn ang TURBO, it needs a constant suply of oil from the engine para mag dugay ang bearings (which alows a seemliness rotation sa bearings). once the engine turns off, no more supply of oil, so kuyaw sa wear and tear ang bearings. then guba dayon.


so the proper way to turn off a engine with TURBO is to let it idle for at least 1 minute, jst enough ma settle or mo relax npd ang spin sa turbo, then turn off.

mao na ang TURBO TIMER, cya na ang mo wait or mo delay sa engine pg turn off.

base lang sa akng pag sabot ani.. hehehe..
