CEBU CITY (Updated) -- Two Grade 8 students of the Cebu International School (CIS) were confirmed dead after a swimming accident in Subic on Wednesday.
CIS identified the students as Jae Hak (James) Jung and Kyle Weckman, both Grade 8 students. They were in Subic for the annual celebration of the Philippine's week.
Weckman is the grandson of former Cebu representative Jose R. Gullas. The victim's mother, Jackie, is the daughter of Gullas, also board chairman of The Freeman, a Cebu newspaper. The former congressman is brother of incumbent Representative Eduardo Gullas (1st district, Cebu).
Weckman's body will arrive in Cebu Thursday night.

Weckman was reported missing Wednesday while swimming in Subic. His body was found and identified Thursday.
Jung, on the other hand, was fatally injured while swimming near a waterfall in Subic, CIS superintendent Deidre Fisher said in a statement posted on the CIS website,

Field trip of other grade levels has been cancelled as of Wednesday.
As of this posting, Jung's body is at a funeral home in Makati, Manila. His parents are due to arrive from Korea on Thursday.
Classmates of Weckman and Jung are now en route from Subic to Manila to catch an afternoon flight to Cebu. All grade school students who are out of Cebu City are scheduled to be back in Cebu Thursday and Friday. (Sunnex)
