There is really a PINK elephant in the room! hahahahaha....... "not automatically wrong?" oh right!!! thats why its not "automatically wrong" kay you are INSISTING for everyone to accept it as right? So by context, di pa siya automatically right! wahahahhaa....... sorry but this is just one f@cked up line!

word for the night "like gay marriage, doesn't make it automatically wrong"
    Exactly. ^_^

I'm not saying it's automatically right either. That's the point. You cannot conclude something is "right" or "wrong" simply by gauging its popularity. Pink elephants tell you nothing, other than it is odd, unpopular, unnatural - but never "right" or "wrong".

Killing innocent people is unpopular, but it is wrong because it deprives a person's right to live.
Slavery was popular, but it was and is wrong because it deprives a person's right to freedom.

    And finally:

Gay marriage is unpopular, but it is wrong because _________________________
    1. It's unnatural?
    2. It's unpopular?
    3. It destroys the traditional meaning of marriage?
    4. It's against christian morals? (1)

(note that it never causes suffering nor infringes on the rights of others)

Instead I'm inclined to say: Gay marriage is unpopular, but it is right because it grants equal rights to both the heterosexual and homosexual population.

Popularity/unpopularity have absolutely no bearing in determining something is "right" or "wrong".
I'm not gay, but I'm just trying to continue civilized discussion on this topic. Ayaw lang gud ka hot ug maayo. ^_^

Asserting and discussing are two different things. As Sir Dutashed said before, wala mi plano mo-persuade ninyo. Unlike some of you here, we know how to respect other's views. If you follow the threads closely, we are merely presenting our arguments/ points. Did you notice how we did not resort to ad hom?

Divine judgment by Yahweh was then passed upon Sodom and Gomorrah along with two other neighboring cities that were completely consumed by fire and brimstone. Neighboring Zoar was the only city to be spared during that day of judgment.[Deut.29:23][Gen.10:19] In Christian and Islamic traditions, Sodom and Gomorrah have become synonymous with impenitent sin, and their fall with a proverbial manifestation of God's wrath.[4][Jude 1:7] Sodom and Gomorrah have been used as metaphors for vice and homosexuality viewed as a deviation. The story has therefore given rise to words in several languages, including the English word sodomy, used in so-called sodomy laws to describe a sexual "crime against nature" consisting of anal and/or oral ***, either homosexual or heterosexual.

It is interesting when you confidently expressed something and asked for help from the wikipedia. First of all, the verses posted here were incoherent. Nevertheless, I will post them here:

23 The whole land will be a burning waste of salt and sulfur—nothing planted, nothing sprouting, no vegetation growing on it. It will be like the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboyim, which the Lord overthrew in fierce anger.

    Deut.29:23 (NIV)
    But then, it continues forward:

24 All the nations will ask: “Why has the Lord done this to this land? Why this fierce, burning anger?”

25 And the answer will be: “It is because this people abandoned the covenant of the Lord, the God of their ancestors, the covenant he made with them when he brought them out of Egypt. 26 They went off and worshiped other gods and bowed down to them, gods they did not know, gods he had not given them. 27 Therefore the Lord’s anger burned against this land, so that he brought on it all the curses written in this book. 28 In furious anger and in great wrath the Lord uprooted them from their land and thrust them into another land, as it is now.”

    Deut.29:24-28 (NIV)
Now, please show me asa ang homosexuality nga part?

    Next:
19 and the borders of Canaan reached from Sidon toward Gerar as far as Gaza, and then toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboyim, as far as Lasha.

    Gen.10:19 (NIV)
About ra man ni sa mga places where the Canaanites went. Nothing interesting.

7 In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.

    Jude 1:7 (NIV)
    Asa ang homosexuality?

To give you a better idea, you might want to check this blow-by-blow account:

Genesis 18-19 NIV - The Three Visitors - The LORD appeared - Bible Gateway

And please tell me if you find any 'homosexuality' kay basin ako ang sayop.

As for the present word sodomy:

    sod·om·y (sd-m)
    n.
Any of various forms of sexual intercourse held to be unnatural or abnormal, especially anal intercourse or bestiality.

source: sodomy - definition of sodomy by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.

And yes, even heterosexual couples do it. Your argument is moot.

With all honesty, I appreciate posts like these that are honest enough. I respect your decision if you are against same s3x marriage, sir/ma'am. Nalingaw lang ko sa ayaw hugaw-hugawi ang Pinas. Anyway, I am not trying to persuade you. I was merely pointing out some arguments. So, I guess we both agree to disagree.

    Wish you all the best.

Quick question: can a child decide for himself and give his consent? Hint: statutory rape
    spoiler: He said consenting ADULTS.

    Refer above.

Yes, it is NOT all about consent and these are currently banned. Mao ganeh naay proposed bill. To show that while this is not recognized today, there is enough reason why it must be recognized by the state.

Yes, because comparing the mentally incapacitated people with homo is like comparing apple with apple. Because the homos cannot be good parents, cannot provide the needs of their children, cannot fulfill their responsibilities as parents. Very logical.

You don't treat homos as second class citizens but you likened them with pink elephants [that is not normal for you.] What is the difference? If you don't understand this, then look at the post of trollolol. He likened gays with mentally incapacitated individuals and you are no different. It was just you decided to liken them with something else.

Yes, validate his point that you are shrouded with flawed logic. Ka-klaro atong iyahang gi-mention: marriage equality

If you don't treat gays as equal, then they must have the same rights as you do. Don't you agree?

I hope you still have your butt after laughing it OUT.

I still do! Actually I've been laughing my butt out til now! Why? Irrational judgement is not born out of stupidity! But it is a manifestation of a flawed judgment to twist and manipulate your own belief.

Speaking about the Pink elephant, kay ngano...diba wala may pink elephant?!?! so by scientific evidence abnormal na! it does not even exist! get my point?

    To quote you....

"You don't treat homos as second class citizens but you likened them with pink elephants [that is not normal for you.] What is the difference? If you don't understand this, then look at the post of trollolol. He likened gays with mentally incapacitated individuals and you are no different. Suma, if you eat your neighbor because for you its just like eating pork meat, does the majority consider it normal? di ba dili!!!

and to quote you again.... "Yes, validate his point that you are shrouded with flawed logic. Ka-klaro atong iyahang gi-mention: marriage equality

If you don't treat gays as equal, then they must have the same rights as you do. Don't you agree?"
<----- YOU HAVE YOUR GAY RIGHTS duly given to you by law as a natural born male. unya magpa special treatment gyud mo like everyone else! Unsa may naka special sa third gender/unknown gender/or whatever you want to call it. We heterosexual people don't scream I need my RIGHTS to get married to my dog! wahhhh......

Marriage equality is for male and female! that is equality there! bisag mag pa kasal kasal pa mo ron...the church will not recognize it...primarily the government will not HONOR it! So asa mana padung? diba padung sa wala! so good luck! and again.....good luck!

    /sarcasm in the air.....
