imho, our people should use their skills to help in nation building. Going out of the cou try may allow people to provide for their families but if they had an equal paying job here at home, there would be no need to leave.

To build a great country, our best skilled people have to work In the country. We should work not only for job generation but also raising the quality of jobs available.

Id rather have our best architects and engineers put their talents to work for infrastructure here in the country.


I will say it again... OFWs and DH are a result of lack of opportunities here in the country. We shouldnt be jaded by the amount of money remitted... we should look at how we can grow industries and be self sufficient.

Although its the best solution - But in this world of Globalization its very difficult to do what you have said. Ang pangutana is Kinsay mag una ug Sacrifice, ang Nasud or ang katawhan.

I agree with this. The best talents should stay in PH in order to build the country. But this one is a bit difficult unless we have a disciplined citizens.

Its difficult but we all know that it's the right thing to do. Given the limited resources our government has, Id rather it spend it on growing local industries to improve quality of jobs rather than spend money to have more OFWs sent out.

OFWs are modern day heroes and we all know the sacrifices and dangers they face. (being away from loved ones, maltreatment etc)

maluoy sad ko for these OFWs cos I got to spend time before in a community of OFWs sa Laguna as part of the school's immersion program. Some families would not work kay mag salig lang sa ilang igsoon nga magpadala ug kwarta ug balikbayan boxes. Most of the money they receive just goes to basic necessities and very few are able to use it to build businesses. In short, wala kaayoy asenso ilang community... wala kaayoy new buildings or industries kay kwarta raman ang gi saligan.

If we keep sending OFWs while not addressing the real problem, wala gyud tay padungan.

I also dont think FDIs are the answer... we need to grow our own industries (like what South Korea and China did).

We need a strong agricultural base and build an industrial base as well. We use money from OFWs to grow these industries then we compete globally.

actually, we can make globalization work to our advantage. We just need to find our country's niche. Example is the call center industry.

Other fields where we can excel:

1. Other BPO fields like Accountancy / documentations / medical transcription
2. Computer related industries like animation, film making, video editing, graphics design
3. Medical Tourism and Tourism in general
4. Furniture making, crafts, arts

think positive lang ta... it is difficult but I think the Filipino can do it.

i think that the govt needs to empower people to have and start their own small income generating businesses. easier said than done , kinahanglan exert og effort ang govt ani na area.

Istoryaheeee!!! kanus-a pa kaha ni mahitabo. Pero maayo ni kung naay mga opportunities para sa mga DH diri sa pinas kay kung ikompara sa sweldo sa DH og nagpabuwan. Ambot na lang, dili kabuhi og pamilya.
