yes parehas ta bible ang holy book but in different translations. you have the deuterocanonicals while baptists dont have. Mostly, KJV ang gamit sa baptists.

One thing atong ma question, if ang Roman Church jud nagsugod sa bible why man halos tanan Catholics dont have a clear knowledge about the bible itself kung gikan man jud nila? nganong protestants man and other non-catholic groups mas kusog mogamit sa bible?

Dunay baptists nga evangelicals duna pud wala mosunod.

It was the old upbringing & possible the old tradition brought by the spaniards who brought the religion ot the phils. The bible was always hidden as it was considered sacred from the past. But now, as the rise of the new catholic charismatic groups it is a little different story. Bo sanchez, LLS, CFC, these are just some examples who pushes us rc's to be closer to our bible. If looking motan-aw ta sa atong history, gigamit sa spanish govt ang rc chruch to spy on rebels sa spanish time. Karon medyo lahi jud.

but you know and pinaka importante nga butang maoy wala nuon hatagig attention. to let the masses know the truth from the bible. its not just the bible ang gi consider nga sacred, the idols, the eucharist, holy water etc. anything nga naa sa church was considered sacred.

despite sa past, we are still encouraged to read the bible. nindot man gud kung kita mismo nakabasa kung unsa ang kamatuoran.

    nindot nga verse bro.
So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Unsa atong madungog ato sad i refer sa bible kung tinuod ba jud.

    @ HELIOPAUSE ...

Sorry to offend if naay ma offend .

Simple kaayo bai . FANATICISM and rooting the purpose of their existence. Mao they strive to come up with their own interpretation and understanding on what gives them leverage even to the point of taking it LITERALLY.

Unsaon lage nimo ang bibliya kung kini imoha lamang pagsabot and not what was intended for? maski memorize pa na nimo from the Book of Genesis all the way to the Revelation , word for word ... kung kini ay pagsabot lamang gani sa personal na level of understanding and not even from your the respective minsters or pastors , samutan di ba ?

Mahug man gud na ang CHURCH SCHOLARS sayop and ang naning sa BIBLIYA kay SAKTO if mao na ang gipasabot nimo. Kahibalo ba ka unsay CHURCH SCHOLARS ? DOCTORS of the CHURCH ? Di na sila mga ReED majors lamang. Hi hi hi .

The most common and recognized bible used by the RC's is the NEW AMERICAN BIBLE . If by content per content same ta kung whatever version na ang ipagawas or print ninyo , then maybe ... maybe ma reconcile na siya maski in a LITERAL WAY of understanding pa.

why would they protests if they do not belong to the organization?
Mao na gitawag ug , barking at the wrong tree. They dont heed or agree with the practices , traditions and beliefs of the RC's mao they rooted for somethign else that they believe is correct without malice but it does not guarantee anything gihapon. Kay ang interpretation is giving more weight man to the advantage of the existence . Mao bitaw daghan kaayo bible versions ni surface out.

Tell bai unsay CHRISTIAN DENOMINATION na dili form of BUSINESS kay adto ko mo balhin karon dayon hehe .

    question:
do you really understand the bible?

others will only have a glimpse of this post and post another that just assuming that they already understand the poster thoughts. and never read the bible text and assumed that they fully understand the bible itself but what is the key to understand the bible? we need to learn and understand the bible not in the understanding in philosophy or ideas of people, but with the most reliable source... The Bible. other source are facts, history and evidences.

    Acts 17:11

11 Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

murag mao jud niy reason nganu wala kaau nakapraktis ang
mga RC Christians ug bible reading..and it has something to do with
upbringing pud..'cause i remember when i was a kid..i never got to read the bible
'cause my parents though catholics just encouraged me to go to church..
i never really had a personal encounter with the bible till i joined
a charismatic group..and unfortunately this is or may also be one of the reasons
why most RC christians(mostly the elderly) rely on the traditions that have been passed from generations to generations..
when i started reading the bible, was then i realized that every part of the holy mass
is based on the bible, remembering what Jesus did.

@heliopause: actually bai, it is already happening. Changes is happening slowly. We all know that the dominant religion sa pinas (rcatholics) is very lenient. Sa kadako sa catholics bai, lisod jud na macontrol. Even the small orgs sa pinas maglalis man gani, unsa pa kaha ang isa ka dako nga religion like rc. People come & go as they please, we celebrate mass the whole sunday (almost), & even everyday. Even with that effort bai, naa jud nay dili motuo sa church. But we still have true believers sad, same as any other religions.
