Default What is the difference Between Prayer and Wish?

Some people pray. Other craft wishes, otherwise known as casting spells. Is there really a difference between the two? Most Christians would stand up and shout that there definitely was. On the other hand most others would say no. I am neither a Christian nor an other. I have no one set belief but am fascinated by them all. Let's take a look at the differences between prayer and wish craft. To understand the differences between any two things one must first understand each separate thing. That's the way I see it. So, let's first take a look at what prayer actually is.
Prayer is something that people do in order to bring a positive outcome to a certain situation. If they, or a loved one are ill then they would pray for them to be healed. When people pray they are praying for a specific intention. People pray for guidance, help, and positive outcomes to situations with the intention of their prayers being answered. The one who answers prayers is the one who is prayed to. This one is the Divine, known to most people as God. In general people pray silently, in their mind, and in their thoughts. They may take no physical position at all but rather just be as and where they are. Prayer is a meditative process.
One relaxes themselves to the point of a spiritual meditative state and connects themselves with God. They direct their intentions to God and call upon God to come to them for aid and assistance. Energy flows both ways. It is your energy directed towards God and God's energy coming to aid you. Sincere prayers are heard and received. God comes to aid those with pure and sincere intentions. They then proceed to "speak" to god, either in their minds or actually out loud. Some people who pray do however choose to take a physical position of being on hands and knees, or make the actual physical movements of clasping hands and/or bowing their heads. They then speak to God, telling him about the problem and situation at hand. They then hope that God does hear them and does help them to help themselves. They wish for direction and hope to receive it.
Okay. That was prayer. I do believe that just about covers it. I do know that prayer is complex, but I also do believe that anything can be broken down and explained in simpler terms. Let's now take a look at wish craft.

Wish craft is the crafting of wishes. A wish is a hope and an intent. One chooses to craft a wish when there is a problem or situation at hand that they need resolution too. One who crafts a wish seeks guidance, assistance, direction, and help. They may also ask for knowledge. Wishes are like requests. When people craft wishes they must connect to the Divine because the Divine is the grantor of all wishes. When one chooses to craft a wish they first relax themselves, and get into a meditative state of mind. They connect to the Divine in their minds and bring the presence of the Divine into their physical worlds. When one crafts a wish they are directing their intention towards the Divine, yes, but have called the Divine unto them by crafting the wish. Energies are called to those who are crafting the wish for aid. When people choose to craft wishes they can choose to do it in different ways. I consider the terms wish craft to cover the part that is done within the mind. The actual connection to the Divine is within, the heart of the wish is within you, within your mind and soul. It can all be done just like that. However, like people do when casting a spell, people often choose to perform certain physical actions such as lighting candles, gathering items or stones, and casting circles previous to, during, or even after the crafting of the wish. The purpose of the crafted wish is to produce positive results or outcomes. To get the aid, guidance, relief that is sought. When the crafter of the wish has pure, sincere intentions the intentions are recognized by the Divine. The outcome is positive.

for me TS, a wish is a portion of a prayer..but not at all times..
'cause someone could just make a wish placing his/her hope out of something else...
while a prayer is in hope for God..which includes praise and thanksgiving and a whole lot of
other stuff..it can be like a simple conversavation between the person and God..
a person can pray just to thank God, ask for guidance,forgiveness..without wishing..
or a person may also pray for a request or wish..

Prayer is a devotion to God.

Wish is something you desire, your wants.
