Its better if the Philippines becomes a US territory like Guam, Hawaii, Puerto Rico dili na lisud then also Pinoys will enjoy all the niceties of USA without leaving home. The USA will come to you! Its understandable too why there's mix emotions and rather strong reactions concerning this issue its the patriotism and loyalty for our very own country and governance that no outsider should be allowed, which is understandable too. But the fact is, nothing is working. We need to face reality and not allow ego and pride get in the way of progress because its a matter of survival. We should be open to embrace change and I think a country like the Philippines because of its american ties in history and westernized influences, once it becomes a US territory it will even progress at a much faster rate. And i dont believe doing so the Philippines will lose its identity in fact, i think being a US territory will undoubtedly enhance it and much more so improve the quality of life for every Filipino.

I like the US, I like it here but for me I don't want the Philippines to be under US control.

The US is flexible and if ever that happens the US will just enhance and improve and not get in the way of things that are already working and in place. And if you want to be emotional about it? I envision half of those OFWs will come home. To think, they left our country with no choice but to better and improve their lives so they can help support their families back home. If they have a choice and if opportunities and conditions were a lot better, they will not leave our country to try their luck in another country. The sad thing is the Philippines cannot take care of its own people. Filipinos sacrifice so much as far as leaving families behind and being separated from loved-ones simply because they have no choice. And to think they are gambling their life away uncertain of what lies ahead for them in another country they'll do anything even illegally just to try their luck abroad. To think, if Pinoys go to such great length to even do that, i have not much to say about how our government is taking care of its people. Evidently, they cant help and cant retain our Pinoy workforce because they have not much to offer. That's the sad reality.

Yes it is a sad reality, but we have to face reality. This is what our previous generation have chosen and we can't do anything about our present situation but to accept it. We've been given the chance before.

I understand your point of view but see, that's one thing wrong with us Pinoys. We fall into complacency and say there is nothing we can do about it or say, our forefathers did it that way. How do you suppose a country can progress and change with that kind of thinking and attitude?

When I said thet we have to face reality it did not mean that I am complacent about our present situation. What I mean is that it's not realistic for us to wish that we should be under US control since it isn't realistic at all. What should be the realistic thing to do? Strive more, work hard do antything rather than wishful thinking. Why can't we do what the others have done? Like Korea or Singapore for instance? what is the difference between their country and our country? their people and our people? why is it that they are not wishing for their country to be under the rule of a bigger country in order for their lives to improve. We can do also whatever they have done to improve their country. What is wrong with some of us is that we don't have the attitude to love our country that is why we can never improve.
