Intel plans on releasing 3rd gen Core-i3 after June 24

Intel announced earlier today that its 3^rd-gen Core-i3 will be available after June 24^th, as opposed to press reports that it won’t be available until August. The news came out of Intel’s Taiwan branch when official clarified to the press that Intel had no intentions of withholding or delaying its entry-level Ivy Bridge CPU. Adding to Intel’s announcement, the official said that Intel will continue to focus on shifting 40% of consumer notebooks to Ultrabooks by the end of 2012. Current global economic conditions and delay of the i5 and i7 may hamper that goal.Taiwan’s Acer Inc. had to revise their Ultrabooks production forecast to accommodate Intel’s delay and gloomy market conditions. Ultrabooks will account for 12-15% of Acer’s total notebooks shipment in 2012, as compared to their previous forecast of 12-20%. Source: focustaiwan.tw
