Default Re: Did Jesus have any sibblings?

There are no hidden pages in the bible and all the interpretation were mere literal in nature .

This is an age old question thrown by the PROTESTANTS to the ROMAN CATHOLICS .

To basically answer the question , one should analize first the question both biblically and in commonsense to reconcile both the people who relies on the bible and those who thinks logically .

Try to compare MT. 27:56 and MK 15:40 , it is said thee that the Virgin Mary had a sister named like herself who was the wife of CLopas or Alpheus( variety of the same name ) and who had two sons , James the Less and Joses as claimed as the brothers of Jesus .

Another instance also for commonsense reasoning , when Jesus was 12 years old and was lost in the temple , as claimed or interpreted that he has 4 brothers and 2 sisters , bringing the acocunt to space them evenly in their respective ages . James must be 10 , Joses must be 8 , Judah must be 6 , and Simon must be 4 . Considering on that gaps , the sisters must be 2 and the other must still be unborn . The Virgin Mary went on to trek 70 kilometers in 3 days one way . Is it possible ? NO .

So prior to coming up with questions like these , one should consider also to answer the difficulty of what is realistic . dili lang ang unsay atong interpretation because we cant reconcile or for the sake of discussion lang . So now you guys see a part of the answer that is biblical and what makes sense .

Other than that , this is the belief of the ROMAN CATHOLICS today . That is because the RC's of the yesteryears knew better and these are all inheretance of belief's as what they knew as they were really there . The basic error of non believers to this doctrine is the fact tht they dont have no other source of information except the bible . Mind you , all these interpretations carry different meanings abhoring what carries an advantage to their leverage without any valid foundation .

Great example of these are the conclusions of a one great family of 4 brothers and 2 sisters must be recollected that ADELPHOI which is translated " brethren " may also signify " cousins " .

So RAISSAH ... here you go .

    @ MARIUS ...

Some people dont get the idea of faith unless they go back to their roots . Thats the very reason why such numerous/countless interpretations came out both baseless, inaccurate and in literal understanding .

On a side note , JESUS is not dead nor his MOTHER , the Blessed Virgin Mary . He rose from the dead and she assumed to Heaven respectively .

    Fafa Marius .... hehehehe .

^^ There's this issue regarding James the Just, believed by some to be Jesus' earthly brother who carried His teachings after the Resurrection.

    ^^^

Daghan interpretations ni James the Just na same person ni James the Less and James the Son of Alphaeus .

Some would even go to the point of reconciling the name MARY as their mother therefore igsuon sila ni Jesus when in fact pwerting daghana ngalan na MARY ni appear sa bible if we talk about biblically .

These can all be mixed and matched because these are all UNANSWERABLE ANSWERS but the fact remains that the scenarios I provided are all UNANSWERED QUESTIONS .

Perhaps, naa sa Vatican ang answers ana boss. Anyway, para nako dili man maka affect sa akong personal faith.

Naa man pod sa Gospels nga Jesus lived as a normal person before He began His Mission.

    @ FAFI ...

    Thats the problem .

Like how I started the interaction prior to giving the answer to the question of the TS .

Fellow CHRISTIANS would throw questions that are very IRRELEVANT . For the record , as I have said again , the question raised by the TS is an age old question by the PROTESTANTS to ROMAN CATHOLICS .

.. and to continue with an inquisitive mind, Mary and Joseph are married, did they live their lives as normal married people ?? Do they share Carnal Knowledge at night ??
True in a sense as human nature but biblically speaking , which by the way is the only source of answer for that question , it neve rmentioned anything about the BLESSED VIRGIN MARY bearing children other than Jesus . The bible has explicitely mentioned about S3X in other parts of the books but nothing about what a man and a woman would do . In the case of St. Joseph and the Blessed Virgin , they are only considered couples to avoid persecution . In reality fro the understanding of the bible, St. Joseph is not the husband of Mary . These are on the " biblical " side .

Now on the scientific side , Joseph and Mary are to be considered couples no matter how you see it as an atheist . Of course it would not reconcile biblically about holiness because its human nature .

Less we forget the " faith " side , Joseph became a saint not because he was the foster father of Jesus but because he is a man of exemplary life of Holiness . What more could you ask on the part of Mary ? She was the chosen one by God the Father . So being couples na maka antos without any sexual activities is NOT impossible at all .
