    @rodion

    There is a big difference in it rodion as you already knew! It is all about whose god is to be worshipped.

    Who's the god of the freemasons?
    Our beliefs shapes our thinking so we can say that leaders' belief can have great impact for nation for a variety of reasons. Depending on the culture and governmental style it can range from a simple influence to a complete control of society.

    What happen to america now?

    The TS is trying to come up with a (rather lame) argument that, since America was founded as a Christian Nation, that it should serve as a good example...and thus implying that the PHILIPPINES should also be a Christian nation, and discourage ideas that promote secularism (separation of Church and State). Ergo, this guy supports the idea that politicial and economic decisions in this country should be decided upon by "spiritual leaders" and "people of faith" in the Christian religion. *shakes head*

    America was founded earlier by the Pilgrims mainly Puritans and Protestants aboard the ship Mayflower who escaped religious persecution in Europe. Later on, as the colonists grew and needed a stable government; the Founding Fathers issued in their Constitution a Republic that will not favor any religion over another so that people can practice their beliefs freely (Religious Liberty) and not fall in the same path as Europe. Although few Founding Fathers were not bible Christians (some were Deists) most of them attended seminaries and their religiosity influenced their works in nation-building.

    Religious Liberty originally meant that people of any religion can exercise their belief freely without fearing persecution, attack, arrest, and can proselytize (preach) as they will. Freedom of religion, not freedom from religion.

    The founding fathers are known to pray in their meetings some lasting for three hours. I don't know any Christian that spent this much time praying.

    George Washington is also known for attaching chaplains in the military. Merely from seeing the importance of several Biblical passages in regards to the psychological effects of the men in the battlefield.

    "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." - Joshua 1:9

    "I am convinced that neither height nor depth, nor death, nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor anything in heaven or earth can separate us from the love of God." - Romans 8:38

    Simply put America is nation aligned to the laws of a secular state but grounded by Christian principles.

    ...which basically implies that America was NOT founded as a Christian nation.

    It is not a Christian nation but its constitution and many of its foundations were heavily influenced by Christian principles. To some degree, even Jesus preached of a division and incompatibility between (worldly) statehood and a Christian life.

    The wording is important here. What you're trying to say is that America was founded upon adapted principles set by Christianity, which is MARKEDLY different from America was founded as a Christian nation, which is what the TS had been 'preaching' here, which is incorrect because the first statement is the more correct way of saying it. Magkalahi nang duha.

    I believe it would differentiate much on how the individual perceives it. If America was brought up with the same guidelines but its principles are influenced by Mohammedan teachings then its only natural that that country would be viewed as an Islamic nation although technically neutral. Right now there's too many groups, religious and secular in the US pushing their own agendas that include this matter. I believe this is what the Founding Fathers were trying to avoid, when mobs and institutions will demand civil action and government coercion overshadowing the rights of the individual.

    Aw, that would be a living hell. It would become mandatory that everyone pays their tithe.
