Need Help: HDD Issue or MoBo Issue?

Hi Guys!

Good morning! Anyway, naa ko problem sa ako PC. It seems that 2 days ago, my computer started to have issues detecting the hard drive. Wont boot and its telling me that "it needs to select the proper boot device." So I accessed the BIOS and checked if its able to detect the HDD but unfortunately, it didn't detect the hard drive. So, I did basic troubleshooting.

1. tried a different SATA port = same issue
2. tried a different SATA cable = same issue
3. tried a different PSU cable = same issue
4. reset bios settings to default = same issue

So after all those troubleshooting steps, i already gave up and I turned off my pc for around 3-5hrs. But when I checked it again, the HDD is now being detected by the BIOS. It was working fine til earlier this evening when it happened again. HDD not being detected npud! tsk! Wala pud ko ma.try na lain HDD kay isa ra ako HDD. Same sa MoBo, wla pud ko ma.try lain since I only have one PC at home.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sound like a hard drive issue. Technically, gipahuway nimo for 3 to 5 hours ang hard drive and then mo work siya, but, after several minutes of use, mo palyar na pud.

To make sure na hard drive issue ra ni and wala problema and mobo, you need to test the entire computer by using another hard drive.

Two things to check...
your Sata cable and your HDD... no other things to check.

brand new ang sata cable emo gElis or 2nd hand? bc lost contact rana...

try using another HDD if same problem ba gihapon...

Any other symptoms? like clicking sounds? BSODs? programs freezing randomly?...as what another suggested, have a spare hdd and monitor first. if the prob disappears then it's the HDD

i tried using the sata cable of my optical drive and still same issue... i know the sata cable is working since the bios is able to detect the optical drive mn...

try using another HDD if same problem ba gihapon...

wla lagi ko extra na hdd boss... mao na dli pjud nko ma.isolate ang issue...

hmmm... i noticed that some programs does freeze randomly but no bsods... and when i checked the event viewer sa win7, naa jud xa na.detect na issue daw sa hdd... i forgot the complete error message though...

lagi... tsk! tambay na ako pc for more than 24hrs now... di njud ma.detect ang ako hdd... grrr!

Palit na new hdd... Then ipa rma ang current one if guba. You could always use a spare hdd especially when u need to backup data or troubleshoot your pc.

update: ni.work npud akong hdd now... hahaha... hasola! currently using it... unsa kaha ako mabuhat while its working noh?
