I agree that the jab is a very effective punch if anybody wants to be effective vs. Mayweather, but let's not forget that Pacquiao is a southpaw, and Floyd is vulnerable to left hands (Judah and Corley fights come to mind). His main weapons would be his right hook, lead left hand (almost like a jab) and of course his patented left straight. Pacquiao is a dyamic puncher, and if Floyd lays on the ropes like he did in the Cotto fight, he wouldn't only get a bloody nose, that's for sure.

Basing how Pacquiao would fare against Mayweather by his fight against Marquez is flawed. Marquez and Mayweather are both master counter punchers but are also night and day when it comes to style. Floyd does not have Marquez beauty of combination punching and the guts to fight fire with fire. Marquez was so effective against Pacquiao because he takes risks, something Mayweather doesn't do. Floyd uses his athleticism and superb defense to find holes in his opponents, but he's mostly pot shotting when countering. He does not put his punches together that much because if he does, chances are he will be open himself for a counter punch.

Have you seen Floyd throw the right hook that hit Cotto's left jaw, and sometimes his gloves? It looks like it took 48 hours to get there. Floyd's reflexes are great, and he's so quick in evading a punch and deliver a punch of his own, but if you talk about putting punches together, he seems rather slow compared to Pacquiao. I guess that's why some people are saying Manny is faster than Floyd. I think Floyd is quick, Manny is fast.

Again we're only here to speculate, and this is not what boxing is all about. That's why they FIGHT THE FIGHTS! Experts can be rendered stupid after a fight predicting a totally different outcome. A prime example is Mayweather-Cotto, when almost everyone thinks its gonna be an easy night for Floyd. WE WERE WRONG, ABSOLUTELY WRONG.

How does Manny react to getting tagged? I've seen Manny get shut down easily more than once. Pac vs Morales 1 and against Marquez 2 and 3 prove that Pac is uncomfortable and reluctant when he starts feeling leather in his face.

Pac's right is useless? maybe a decade ago. Hatton got rocked by his right (KD in one instance), Cotto was punished by his right (one KD caused by right). If you are going to use that JMM argument then let's make the argument that Pacquiao destroyed Cotto, and Mayweather did not. Again, Marquez did not win that fight. Several times he's a b**** about losing and throws a fit, making everything a controversy. There is a major difference between Money and his style of counterpunching, that is Mayweather pushes the fight often. Marquez is a PURE counterpuncher. Several of Pac's opponents have attested, when fighting Pacquiao, there is always the issue of phantom punches, where they get hit and they didn't see it coming. I don't know how Pacquiao'speed is in question here... It is widely accepted that he has one the fastest hands in the sport. Whether those hands will nullify Mayweather's defense, we don't know.

I only mentioned Corley and Judah fights because the former hurt Mayweather at one point (guess what, left hand) and Judah knocked him down with his left as well.

Cotto was drained @ 145 lbs when he fought Pacquiao? have you even seen the weigh in? those are excuses.. Cotto lost not because he was drained but because he basically trained himself for that fight, and Manny is just better than him.

Manny gets uncomfortable when hit? LOL.. that's breaking news.. I bet nobody wants to get hit in the face but watching boxing for a long time, I KNOW Mayweather is the one who does not want to get hit, not Pacquiao.

Again, if your basing how PAc will fare against Floyd because of the great Juan Manuel Marquez, you are absolutely wrong, I promise. But its your opinion and we can't do anything about that. The only way to find out is when they both fight each other. Until I see it with my own eyes, I won't be convinced that Mayweather will handle Pacquiao as easily as you described. NOBODY will have an easy night with Manny, win or lose. And your boy seems to agree with that as he is mightily doing everything not to make the fight happen. yesssir! To say Mayweather doesn't take risks is BS, he'll purposely put himself in the ropes/corner just to bait opponents into throwing wild punches to give him some openings to counter and it works perfectly for him. He takes risks but he doesn't have the killer instinct as he had in his younger years because of his brittle hands.

Manny has this tendency when he gets countered/hit a lot, he'll slow his pace down, settle and abandon his usually style.
