Naka experience ge sweldoan mo ug minimum wage or a little above? (Share experiences)

My first job, a little above minimum wage. 8k per month manko ato 8 years ago (around 2004). Tungod kay naay overtime, maka net salary ko ug 12k-14k, which is dako na atong panahona (in my own point of view). Pero if walay overtime, maka sweldo rako ug around 6,800 php, pugong jud ug bakos. Wala jud koy ma palit2x kung ing ato ako sweldo, maghuwat ra ug 13th month.

I admit, during that time it was demoralizing on my part that I am a licensed engineer earning that amount, while call centers at that time were earning 14k-20k (mao man to ang mga time nagsugod ang mga call centers sa cebu, 2003 upwards). But it give me a reason and motivation to find greener pastures. And here I am 8 years afterwards.

It was good because even if gamay ra ako sweldo before, it was my stepping stone and learning experience. Dili to mabayran ug training2x or certificates ang ako na learn ato na time. And I am very proud that naka suway ko ug gamay nga sweldo!

If naka suway mo ug salary nga around minimum, or a little above that bracket, please share your experiences and point of views.

nakasuway ko waiter sa shangrila mactan sa una.1 to 6 months under provisionary period, i received only minimum wage but including my tips and service charge kay hapit pud nako matupngan ang basic salary sa mga regulars.sad to say i resigned bag-o ko na provvy because i cannot handle of exposing under the heat of the sun kay na assign man ko ato sa pool bar og sa beach.but that was an amazing experience.kada adlaw busog ang mata sa mga nag bikini.

Ka suway pud ko below minimum thats why back in 2001-2003 i had two jobs to support my family. Maka net ra ko ug 6k a month sometimes lower. But tungod sa kayud, mao ang nag tudlo nako ug pasensya and hard work. I'm now earning 6 figures a month and it' all because of hard work and sacrifices.

Matud pa sa mga ka storya nako, mga hilas na kaau mga fresh grads na naa sa call centers karon. Dili mo dawat ug trabaho kung below this certain amount. Especially those with nursing, engineering, etc courses. Kai mo balik sila ug work sa ilang field, dili jud na ganahan sa ila ma dawat na sweldo

Anyway, I really accept it with great pride nga gikan ko sa ubos. I even worked with Greenwich Pizza pag college nako kay for experience2x lang gud.

Sa greenwich pako, I was earning 25pesos per hour. Pero one month rako kay summer job raman to akong purpose... Pirteng sukua sa manager nako, kapoy2x lang sila ug training daw nako.

Kasuway ko TS sa ako first job, a little above minimum wage then ako sked kay Mondays-Saturdays then no work no pay. At that time, gapa enroll ko for review classes for my board exam, so thought makaya sa sked, eventually ako gi-give up ang review classes for that first job kay na enganyo ko sa training kay sa Manila man to, one month.

It was a rewarding experience man bisan gamay sweldo kay I've learned a lot and surprisingly nakatigom japon ko ato bisan gamay ra ang ma net sa sweldo. Hapit pod ko ga 1 year didto pero ga resign ko ato kay ni focus ko sa ako review classes, I took the board exam but unfortunately, I did not make it hehe.

Sakto ka, kani gamay ta sweldo, it gives us motivation to strive even more and the drive to find greener pastures. I also did find one and I stayed there for more than 5 years. Now I'm with my current employer for more than 3 years....

sakto jud ni nga attitude bai... good things come to those who wait man daw, tan-awa diba nidako ra imo sweldo then nagkataas pod imo experience... so good for you...
