Want a biblical answer:
Curse is all around us, in fact the Earth was and is cursed because of Sin.

And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to you; and you shall eat the plants of the field;In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Genesis 3:18-19

And the Earth will be restored by God after the advent of Jesus for the faithful:

And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

Rev 21:2-5

Although Charles Darwin because of the horrifying things he saw in nature he concluded that there was no God but did not know that this was the curse he saw. However there are good things in nature as well to remind us of Hope of once was Eden in the past and hope for the future in the restoration of the Earth.

About barang.. I believe their curse will go back to them ten fold since these are practices of sorcery, witchcraft consulting of the dead which is strongly prohibited by God.
