Less eye strain mansad siguro ang CRT basta butangan og glass filter.

i'll go for LCD.
radiation from electron gun can go through the glass display and hit you.![]()
LCD monitors are not just cool looking and better for your desk, they’re better for you and your health.
When you are staring at a CRT it bombards you with the radiation of three electron beams that are continually refreshing the entire screen 60 to 85 times each second. That is why some or many people have radiation shields for their monitors.
Even if your brain doesn’t register the constant refreshing, your eyes do, and they have to work harder to absorb the information. LCD monitors don’t refresh in this way.
Pixels are constantly on or off, which greatly reduces eye fatigue and strain.
LCD monitor weighs 20 to 25 pounds less than a CRT, saving your back from pains when you need to move it.
Ill go for LCD,
na improve na jd ang tech sa LCD unlike 2 years before, dagko na ug resolution screen ug daghan na colors, most ability sa CRT na acquire na sa LCD, CRT mas kusog jd ug radiation.
LCD oi...
but what concerns me are:
* aspect ratio is 5:4 for 17" and 19" which tends to distort application designed for 4:3 aspect like games
* its glary, it cannot display pure black because of the backlighting (O.L.E.Ds addresses this limitation)
* fixed resolution
* viewing angle is limited
* response time - but not a big deal anymore since lcds nowadays are fast
@capt b: it depends on you.
most CRTs today are already equipped with such device that would make the monitor to emit less radiation. so, there is no need to get paranoid if you are exposed to it everyday. older analog monitors dont have these devices.
on the other hand, LCD comes in two forms, the TFT and the "just" the LCD form. LCD monitors are definitely radiation free but they tend to give stress on your eyes since texts and images are blurry. also, reading from it at any given angle would create further deformations (parallax). nevertheless, TFTs solves that problem. however, they come with a price.
i wouldn't say that you go with the best products. there are alternatives. try them! i have a Viewsonic E70 at home and for more than 5 years of using it, no health issues. this comes without the aid of those radiation screens.
another thing, viewing texts, images, movies, and others are destined to be analog which your eyes are used to and always are analog (duh?). so, why bother going digital?
furthermore, if you want to get a good clarity of your CRT monitor's display, get a video card with the highest possible resolution, just like those of Sun's and Silicon Graphics' workstations.
good luck!

maau unta mo ubos pajud ang presyo sa LCD bai spookey para mamalit nata..![]()
ang maka-eye strain, kay ang monitor nga ubos ug refresh rate...
