Willie Revillame forms political group, petitions Comelec for partylist accreditation

Willie Revillame, the popular host of TV5's primetime variety show Wil Time Big Time, on Wednesday evening announced on his show that he will turn his organization, the I Wil Serve Foundation, into a partylist group.
"Hindi ako tatakbo. Gusto ko lang magtayo. I Wil Serve Partylist," the popular television personality said. (I am not running. I just want to put up a partylist. I Wil Serve Partylist.)


Willie Revillame had set up the I Wil Serve Organization together with Atty. Ferdie Domingo last year with the stated objective of helping to alleviate poverty. "If you are an advocate of rights, you could put it into legislation. You can put it into policy," said Domingo. The lawyer added that they submitted requirements for recognition as a partylist group to the Commission on Elections at the end of March.


If the said partylist is accredited by the Comelec, it will be, Revillame hopes, as a multi-sectoral organization catering to the poor, elderly, women and even professionals. As of this time, I Wil Serve claims 3,000 members.

Another reason to abolish the party-list system in our country. That system is becoming a breeding ground by the hypocrite communists, wannabe politicians, and now greedy showbiz personalities like Willie Revillame. If his party would win in 2013 as party-list, for sure that the national budget will drain just to feed the contestants of Willing Willie.

i am not a big Fan of Willie. he is free to do whatever he wants to do and i admire him for trying to help the poor but through this? a big no, no. if he wants to help, there are many trusted and reliable foundations out there he can channel his money to help the poor. not through this.
