Default Re: Rev Engine Before Shutting Down

...@jonovanz, I know warming up the engine, pero ang usual nga term nga akong gamiton kay 'stretch out' when I say. We may have different terms and purpose yet the same point and directions.

...'Stretching out' (for me) is to extend your engines life by warming it up to get the engine to operating temperature, and allowing it to run for some minute or so. That's what I call to stretching out.

    Mine would be:

No revving before shutting down. But how long I let it idle depends largely on how hard I was running the engine beforehand.

If I've run the engine hard then I let it idle till the engine temp "settles" before turning it off. Although for turbo vehicles I sometimes let it idle longer than I do with naturally aspirated engines.

If normal inday2x driving lang... diretso pawng after parking HAHA mahal na gas ron.

no rev before shutting down, mao ni advice sa ako father in law for 5 years now. ang turbo namo i pa cool down lang if mo idle na off.

naa sad toy gi tudlo ako mga kaila nga if taas kaayog pundo ang auto like 1 week nimo pa andaron, kana daw revan nimo before off para next week dili kaau hardstarting pero mag depend sad sa battery.

no need to rev tha engine bro especially sa mga brandnew cars kron..kung diesel imong car pwed ra pod pa install ka ug turbo timer, gamit cya kung cgi ka ug long distance travel pra cooldown sa turbo..

For cold start, i let it idle by itself and this is when automatic choke is engaged (high idle)...once the engine is warmed up the car will disengage the automatic choke and the rpm will drop to its normal idle...

For shutting down the engine after running, i just let it idle for like 5 seconds and turn it off..my advice, don't rev up the engine when you're about to shut it down because its just going to leave unburnt fuel in the engine..For turbo cars some have the turbo timer

same practice esp if you have some battery issues, rev up to save some charge that is after turning off the loads...though im not sure how much it helps but i know it does.

OT: medyo OT gamay, pero ask lang ko, dli ba mas daghan ang unburn fuel sa low rpm?
