...knowing all partitions and its purpose is different from configuration and/or a recommended action and setting of such partition. There are things we called "best practices" and "bad practices". What I ask is that what would be the recommended? Besides, i don't ask anyone about the purpose....

@wire: Now you know... 100mb is too much while Linux kernel can have 2.5mb to 5mb. In my experience in Linux I don't set /boot partition usually. As I checked my Debian based Linux, it's just 3mb in my /boot partition with 2gb memory, 1.73 Dual Core and 120gb HDD.

Then why do you need to asked questions that you know the answer?

...I think, trainings nowadays are not really necessary, because ther are plenty of resources from the the internet. Administering Linux, you can find all of that from the internet. Practical wise, you need a lab and create something what you want, then challenges will follow, don't skip or surrender just follow what you want to aim. Always set an objective and achieve it.

Administering, I think, there are five edges of systems administrator/integrator`s job that you have to follow basically, Install, Configure, Backup and Recovery, Troubleshooting, and Documentation. that's it! just learn to reach these basic tools to administer not only to Linux but in all technologies. If you have achieved all of this then it's good to go, whatever, wherever, whenever you are?

...daghan ug factors that we may consider the cause.

1) it could be your internet connection. Check your internet connection. You may try to use windows just to compare if the response of the two systems were yet the same.
2) it could be the cable. Check the cable if it is properly connected or plugged in to the socket. Sometimes one the header of the cable is loose then it could be this problem.
3) it could be your DNS. If the DNS could not resolved or you may have plenty of DNS entries configured on your NIC Card and some of the entries were not working then this could be your problem. The system reading direction of the DNS entries starting from top to bottom, so be aware of the top entries. On the top of the list should be much faster than what you have from the bottom. (that if you have plenty of DNS entries)
4)it could be you were using WIFI connection. WIFI connection is prone to signal fluctuation due to some interferences such as cellphones, other WIFI devices. So, to fix this problem is to change your channel i believe you have up to 12 channels so, do a little experiment on that by changing to and fro to best signal you would get.
5) if all of these were not experienced then consult your ISP

wifi imo gi gamit? try installing Wicd naka bantay pud ko ani sa 11.10,basta wifi cge siya ka putol.. pero wicd solved the problem for me. I hope maka tabang ni

nibalik man sya.. wired ni ako connection boss P-Chan 11.10 pud ako gamit.. mag ping ko sa google mag putol2 pila ka minutes din balik na pud din putol na pud. Wa man problema sa Windows hasta ang isa ka PC nga XP ok ra pud.. kini ra jud sa ubuntu.. gi dual boot ni nako.
