[Question] How to handle Dogs. Specially Puppy

daghan ang cause ana.. maybe she's just bored, maybe seperation anxiety, curiosity or maybe she's just teething... ana man pud ako puppy pag abot niya sa house.. @3 months buotan pa kaayo then later bisan unsa ang iyang kit2x.on, what i did kay ako siya gi confine to a small area sa house (I made a 4'x4' pen para niya) then I place toys there.. pero di man kaayo siya interested.. mas mo chew siya sa iyang kennel, paper and other stuff.. then I put hot sauce sa stuff iya i.kit2x.on... it helped a lot! pero feel nako bored rah siya.. I tried walking her to vent the extra energy pero lisod kaayo siya i.walk .. then later naka kat.on ko ug deterent spray na 'bitter apple'.. which also works.. then later naka kat.on ko ug how to walk the dog w/o pulling.. maka tabang ni.. kay kung gi kapoy ang itoy mas behave siya.. in my case it's 30 mins walk twice a day. currently 6 mo.(as of yesterday) nah akong puppy di na kaayo siya mo paak-paak as much as before. hope this helps good luck!


note for toys: daghan2x na pud toys ni agi sa akong puppy.. purag di gud ma dugay.. so far ang na dugay2x gamay is the 'kong classic' (a few battle scars nah pero still intact!) pero karon purag ang treat inside ra man iyang gi interesado.. I'm using rawhide bone now.. for me mas okay siya kay 100% digestable man siya pero supervised gahapon when she's chewing it.. OH naka bantay pud ko when puppies chew on rawhide purag they get thirsty quick so be prepared lang you can find it sa mga pet shops or sa mga hardware

note for toys 2: one of the early toys for my pup kanang rubber chew toys for teething.. so far wa man na interested ang puppy.. she'd rather chew the kennel, the pen or the twist wire.. one trick kay i.butang ang duwa.an ug chicken stock for 5 mins before giving it sa dog.. eventually (kung ma survive pa ang toy) ma gusto ang dog ana..

since the thread is [question] how to handle dogs insert ra pud ko sa akong gmay na delima.

kanang mo lakaw ko sa akong dog randomly mo pick up siya ug stuff off the ground, anything from grass,twigs, bato, plastic ants, and ect.. pero ang worst is kanang tae sa iring.. dako pa gud na tae (from stray cat.. that is HUGE!).. hadlok ko she might eat something poisonus kinsa kahibaw ani?

I tried correcting her by using a slip collar pero mo balik ra man gud siya, I also tried using the drop command pero no effect , same sa leave it... I also tried cuffing.. wa gahapon ni tagam.. grrrr..

normal behavior na for pups when they are teething. so yeah buy a toy or something for him to chew on. with new toys only allow them to chew/play under supervision. personally i never leave toys with my dog without supervision. and if i have to, the only one that i will leave is the rawhide kay at least digestible siya.

@P-chan: what breed imo dog? if large breed you can try to lift him/her up when you catch him/her picking up something. when i say lift, use the leash to lift him up, suspended iya front legs about 1inch from the ground (don't worry, you won't kill your dog doing this) he will drop the thing he picked up and the moment he does, give a command (drop it, leave it, etc....) whatever you want to use but make sure to be consistent in using the same command. it will take time but eventually your dog will understand so that next time, you won't even need to lift him up, you will just say the 'command' and he will know to drop the item.

@mypetstation: minature pinscher siya.. grabe ni ka abtik mo punit sa mga butang.. I have to bantay her pag walk namo like every 5 secs. and check her mouth, if it's moving or not then if ni move tanawon nako if naai sulod.. and most of the time, naa.. one time when I check naa na sa luyo sa iyang mouth, it was a piece of plastic.. may gani na dakpan pah.. I am considering switching to a better puppy food.. maybe kulang.an siya ug nutrients.. she's not sick man pud kay the vet says she's okay..

hmm..the way i imagine your walks, seems like your pup always has her head to the ground, sniffing/looking for something. try and get her attention to look up or far rather than having her head down and picking stuff up. maybe during your walks you can bring something to catch her attention so she looks up and not down to the ground....

kasagaran ingon ana ang gawas.. usually I'd just go 'this way' and a light tug sa slip collar then mo sunod ra man..

update: the muzzle helps big time! kung ma sakpan nako siya naai sulod sa iyang baba ako siya i.correct then muzzle.. makes walking soooooo easy.. naka bantay pud ko mas focus siya
