    Default Kaamulan Festival 2012


    Kaamulan Festival
    - the annual gathering of the 7 ethnic tribes of bukidnon, namely: the Talaandig, Manobo, Higaonon, Matigsalug, Tiguahanon, Umayamnon and Bukidnon.
    - Malaybalay City, Bukidnon


    - Pls share ur photo's if you were also present in the said event


    me and the Manobo tribe...
    - one of the few remaining "lumad" or indigenous people of the southern Philippines

    The Pamuhat Ritual

    Pamuhat is the term used for ceremonies propitiating the spirits through prayers and sacrifices of food and drink.


    - The ritual was held to seek blessings from the spirits for the success of the Kaamulan Festival.
    - The Pamuhat was preceded by: Datu Siudon, Bae Mangunguyab, Datu Mananalsal, Bae Adelina Tarino, Datu Mambunayan and Datu Masilsil.
    - Held along the Fortich Street highway, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon


    - The slaughtering of the animal sacrifice, the blood was poured accross the Fortich Street highway, asking the spirits permission as it marks the starting point of the street dancing/parade.

    kani sila nga mga tribes kay living on the mountains of bukidnon ra gyud? wonder how they take care their-selves from the rogue armed group didto...

    the Bobodsil Kayumatan
    - a courtship dance among the Matigsalug of Southern Bukidnon.
    this dance depicts the courtship of birds (the hornbill) in flight.
    the female bird will follow the male bird and in return the male bird respond.

    Bangkakaw - the Manobo Log Dance

    - a long log called bangkakaw is beaten with long pestle-like beaters as a form of merrymaking among the Manobo and Matigsalug tribes of Bukidnon....
