steps are almost similar with recovery mode but a bit different at the last part.

To Enter Download Mode on the Samsung Galaxy S:

Switch your phone off. To confirm Remove the Battery.
Now Press and HOLD the following Keys in the same order: First Volume Down, Second Home Key, and Lastly The Power Button.
Keep the Buttons Held until you see the phone Light up, then Let go off the power button, but keep the Volume and Home Keys Pressed.
Once you see a Droid digging and the Test "DO NOT SWITCH OFF THE TARGET", Let go off all the buttons.

Makasulod pa siya sa download mode, no problem with that. I tried to use ODIN to reflash a stable firmware but the phone isn't detected.

im not familiar with samsung phones but why not flash a different rom and then flash it again to stock rom if thats what you like. use cwm recovery:

1. take off battery then put it back then hold down volume power and home at the same time
2. when you are in recovery wipe all the caches
3. install rom.zip or any roms.zip

i agree bro..kung ma download mode pana..there is a chance na ma revive na....re flash lang sa stock rom niya... naka sulay ko ana sa akong SGF...ma stuck sa boot dili mo luhos.hahaahhah. gi reflash lang nako sa chinese rom 2.3.4 using odin. now... my SGF work fine...regarding sa dili mo detect ...basin..wla nimo ma install ang phone drivers thru KIES. and also .NET FRAMEWORK .
