The Philippine Constitution also says there should be a law against political dynasties and about no person being deprived of life, liberty and equality without due process. Anyway, my question is, will Mandaue or the Philippines for that matter become a better place to live in with additional representation. I am a businessman and the question boils down to ROI or return on investment. Congressmen are expensive to maintain, you know.

only the elected representative can file the bill for Mandaue's Lone District ... even the speaker of the house will not initiate the effort without the participation of the representative concerned ...

that is the reason why Mayor JONAS has let this issue be open to the public consciousness ... as it is his job to look out for the best interests of the City ... do you realize that my City has lost 1.3 Billion since 1992 for my City alone because we are not a Lone Congressional Seat ... ?!!!

if the question is for my Mandaue then definitely yes ... it would be a better place to live in considering that my City lost 1.3 Billion because we were not made a congressional district since 1992 ... imagine all the projects that could have been had for my City with this amount of funding ...

about it's impact on the entire Pinas ... don't forget bro that my Mandaue produced some of the most notable and respected public personalities in government service in the national level ... Sotero B. Cabahug Secretary of National Defense and Associate Justice of the Court of Appeals and former Governor of Cebu ... Senator Briones who authored the Social Security Bill of the Pinas ... Mandauehanons of this caliber can impact positively on the Pinas bro ...

but only if given the chance by well meaning representatives ... i doubt it will happen with BOLAY-OG ...

So it's about the pork. One big source of corruption in public service and governance. Not really about their primary function as legislators, and that is to review and enact laws. Re.
