Basing on what I had read in the comments and my actual view of the event.. I can safely say that x-rigs 2012 was a COMPLETE FAILURE!!! Hear me organizers!!!!
COMPLETE FAILURE!!! you have failed to consider:
1. The things/hardwares that are needed on the day of the event: All components should be tested beforehand to avoid failures and lapses of those hardwares. If possible, a day before the event or at least very early in the morning on the day of the event, all systems are green and good to go.
2. Relevant authorities should have given proper notice: Just because your event has been approved by the head doesn't mean everything is okay. Consider that these people are busier than you and thus do the work for them by informing those people below them so that they are aware of what's happening. You can't blame these guards for doing their jobs to keep utmost safety for everyone inside the campus. For them, it's a matter of life and death to do their job to feed their families. DON'T BE SUCH AN AIRHEAD THAT YOU HAVE DONE SUCH A BIG THING THAT YOU CAN CREDIT YOURSELF ENOUGH TO WALK HEADS UP WHERE IN FACT YOU HAVE DONE TOO LITTLE OF WHAT THE EXTENT YOUR ENTIRE RESPONSIBILITY... ENOUGH FOR YOU TO STAY RELAX. DON'T FORGET YOU'RE ORGANIZING AN EVENT INVOLVING PEOPLE... ITS NOT ABOUT YOURSELF!
3. Know the relevance of the event: Ask yourself... What are you hosting and what are the goals being achieved by hosting such event? It turned out that it was not an X-rigs but only a MERE show-off of rigs where the wealthier has the more spotlight. Establish relevant goals why the event is being held in the first place and make necessary actions and adjustments to attain those set goals. I don't want to insult your intellect (believe me, im still not insulting) but I want to make some suggestions for future x-rigs... if there would be any thanks to you...
1. The arrangement of the place of the event would be such in a manner that people or the onlookers will have a patterned path to walk through... each one of them will get to see all the rigs from the starting point of the path to the last... Specs of the rigs should be written and displayed so that they will exactly know what's inside and what it's capable of... This way, no rigs great or less will be left out unnoticed by the public.
2. See to it that all participant are well-informed. They should know the exact time of the event to start and what time should they arrive for preparations. ORGANIZERS MUST attend the meeting to discuss any possible improvements, possible problems that may occur, and last minute adjustments... that's why they are called
ORGANIZERS! Sunod intawn kinsa man gani ka... tunga intawn sa meeting... if ing-ana man gani ka, ayaw nalang patuga ug organize ug magpinamay... Leave the responsibility to someone else CAPABLE and MATURE!
3. There should be a timed plan so that the event will have an organized, smooth flow. NOT JUST SOME RANDOM THINGS COME OUT FROM PEOPLE WHO RANDOMLY THOUGHT OF THINGS TO DO. You can follow these suggestions:
a: Opening remarks
Acknowledgement of the participants and sponsors
Disclose the flow of the program so that people will know what to expect
b: Have a simple lecture about computer hardwares and relevant other computer stuffs and how they affect our everyday lives and the future to get people's interest especially those who are still new in the computer world.
c: Have a Question and Answer portion about PC stuffs where those confused newbies can learn something from the proud masters of ISTORYA.NET if there's any... LOL!
d: Perhaps you can now proceed with the x-rigs show-off event (cause that's what happened)
e: Giving of certificates to encourage participants and acknowledgement of sponsors (para di motagam - they needed exposure for their business... maybe wa ka kasabot ana... di mag cgeg kulitog sa uyab...)
f: Then this is where you fill up something to wrap up the event to give a lasting impression. ORGANIZERS MAY HAVE A SONG OR A DANCE NUMBER!
4. This is where you fill in some ideas to put your brain to work... Feel free to use it and add some more....
I still have more to add but I will give you the benefit of the doubt that you clearly get what I sent and that you will be able to cope... positively... for your own good and maturity.
