I made a "non professional" experiment to test my hard disks' transfer rates.
I used a variety of hard disks with different buffer size, transfer rates, and interfaces and a variety of files with different file sizes.

- RAM: Patriot Viper 6GB (3x2GB) 1600mhz DDR3
- MOBO: ASUS P6X58D Premium
- OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate (x64) Build 7600 SP 1

THINGS TO CONSIDER:
*I am NOT a professional benchmark(er?). The softwares I am using may not be that accurate.
*Min/Max Transfer rate is NOT the AVERAGE transfer rate. The average transfer rate may be in between those figures.
*Western Digital 640GB Caviar Black 6Gb/s 64MB Cache is my SYSTEM DRIVE. Some programs (Rainmeter, ObjectDock, Google Chrome, and other System Services) are running from it. They might be affecting the drive's performance.
*I've only run each test ONCE. Certain system condition change from time to time and they might also affect each test's results.
*Some of my drives are 3-6 years old. They might have some bad sectors that may cause their performance.
*I am open to any corrections from the experts here in istorya.net. Ayaw lang ko e criticize or anything for the inconsistencies/inaccuracy of my tests because as I've said, I am not an expert/professional. Instead BE APPRECIATIVE for the time I've spent for this experiment.
