Naay nag-exist nga special bomb squad. It's the responsibility of the head officer to deploy the most knowledgeable personnel to handle the matter in an efficient manner to avoid casualties/deaths. Base on their ranks they're not even bomb experts!

you mean like a bomb suit or ballistic body armors? I don't know if they were defusing or disposing the bomb, but protocol would require such. In the case of the recent Taguig explosion, I don't think it would have made any difference because the victims were allegedly in the direct proximity of the explosion.
