Well dude, it does not affect here in the Philippines unlike India's improper sanitation is present. Most likely it will possibly develop. The mycobacteria will mutate in serious cases if the patient fail to comply with TB drugs regimen and makes harder to treat. It will prone to form a multi drug resistance unless if there's proper compliance, TB of course can be treated.

sa kamahal man gud sa tambal ang mga virus ug bacteria dali lang mag mutate kay ang mga pasyente kung dili makalimot muinom ug tambal on time sa ila sakit dili makapalit ug tambal due to financial reasons..

well the likelihood that it will occur on our country is high. considering we are top ten in the world in TB cases and TB related deaths i think we have more cases than India basing from this graph.

The problem is people are medicating themselves with antibiotics (sometimes they do miss their medications as pointed out) rather than looking for doctors or going to TB center. Which makes this disease resistant to many drugs.

If you had TB or you know someone with TB go to the TB center. thats why we establish those centers and made a law about this cause TB is really a tricky disease.

Some factoids with regard to TB in the Philippines.

"An estimated 200,000 to 600,000 Filipinos have active TB"

"Another alarming fact: An estimated 80 percent of Filipinos have latent TB."

"Each person with active TB can spread the disease to 10 other Filipinos each year! This is alarming since there are between 200,000 and 600,000 Filipinos with active TB. Multiply this by 10, and just imagine how much TB is being spread yearly."

Just because India has a higher TB prevalence rate doesn't mean the Philippines shouldn't worry. We share similar problems as India, albeit to a lesser degree. We do have a sanitation problem, our urban areas are densely populated which allows diseases to be extremely communicable.

Precaution is ALWAYS better than any cure or treatment. Better safe than sorry guys.
