Let me just share a few stories which is connected to STREET CHILDREN or HOMELESS or POOR PEOPLE....
Story #1
It would be nice unta to give them MONEY but then again, we really dont know what they would do with the money! FOr drugs maybe or Rugby or what! One time on my way to work, i dropped by to buy a BUY1TAKE1 Burger from Angel's Burger! That was supposed to be my breakfast and snacks for later. Before I went to the clinic, I dropped by the cellshop to buy some load when an old man came over to me asking for alms. Instead of giving him some money, I gave him 1 of the burgers I had. He took it, looked at it and looked at me and I told him...
"Kauna na noy labong init pa para sad masudlan na imung tiyan karun buntaga!"
He took a bite but still tried to ask me for some money but I just ignored him since I already had given him the burger.
Story #2
On the street going to SM intersection of Ayala where Leona's bakeshop is located, while the signal was on STOP, there are these blind beggars there with their assistants who knock on each car and ask for some money! I didn't have any coins with me that time and I had some Pomelo with me that time and so when they arrived at my window, I gave them 3 slices of my sweet pomelo! They said thank you, walked away, while I continued on to look at where they are going through the side mirror.
Unfortunately, a few steps later, they THREW the pomelo away without even eating it!
I got sad for those sweet Pomelos which I shared to them.
Story #3
On my way home, I passed under the flyover near WATERFRONT HOTEL. With the signal on STOP, several kids were on the streets caroling every car they pass! I was only driving my motorcycle that time and my purse was inside my bag so I really wasnt able to give them anything but I just observed to see what I can do for them one of these days!
1 of the kids there was about 6 or 7 years old with a baby brother about 1 year old maybe or so who he carried at his back! One of the kids who didn't want him there kay territoryo daw to nila, tried to shove him away and even kicked him so he would move away or go somewhere else...
I called their attention especially the bullying one to stop what they are doing to him who was making a living and at thesame time carrying his little brother along with him...
....A lot of stories can be heard about these kind of people... We may be able to understand...others may be indifferent about it or others would probably keep on closing their heads about it....
However sad it may be that WE GIVE and yet some of them won't appreciate, e.g. throwing your donation/gift or worst, burning it infront of you.... No matter how bad it gets and no matter how bad you feel about it, we are the ones who are more educated than them therefore we have to be the ones to just simply understand them and not give up on them because there still is hope in everyone no matter how bad they are.....
Just keep in mind that when you GIVE, whatever they do to your gift is their decision...the important thing is, in your end, you did your part, you didn't give up on them who think that God has given up on them...
Just keep giving & pay it forward! God bless everyone and a Merry Christmas to all!
