Filipino parenting; good or bad?

buotan ako mama, ako papa stricto sa sakto na pag ka stricto. nindot raman outcome sa mga anak. depende na kung gi unsa pag badlong o unsa ang way sa pag discipline sa parents OG depende pud na sa anak kung gi unsa niya pag take ang badlong, kay naa bayay uban anak na bugo kaayo pag accept sa badlong himuon nila og rason na mao kuno ang naka pa liko sa ilang dalan.

naa pud ko kaila, buotan ang mga anak pero ang parents bati. so depende rajud na sa tao kung unsaon niya pag dala ang kaugalingon

I still consider the Filipino parents as one of the "most loving" in the World. Due to our close family ties our parents go the extra mile to extend their helping hand even if their children already have their own family. What I dislike though about other Filipino parents is the "utang na loob" attitude. It is given that we show love and respect to our elders for the “love and care” that they devoted to us but then, this is the “love and care” that we rightfully deserve. It disgusts me that some parents raise their child with the expectation that when the time comes they’ll return the favor. And when they don't receive what they have expected they consider their child a total failure with "walang utang na loob". Im not talking base on experience but I believe that this has been a common situation in our society.

Filipino parenting. Good before, not so good now

naa naman gud mga balaod karon nga tan-aw nako dili maayo. I think its not only for the parents but for 2nd parents as well (teachers). Kabantay ko karon wala na respeto mga students tungod kay limited na ang pagbadlong sa mga teachers.

both. depends largely on the parent - on how they want the children to grow. naa mga parents na super strict but very effective jud sa ilang mga kids - nagiging super disciplined naman.

How do we differ anyway from other country when it comes to raising our children? I guess, we all have one in common..its the "love'...we just have stronger family ties compare to other countries..but raising a child and being a parent is one big responsibilty.are there really rights and wrongs when it comes to being parents or raising a child? For me it is how you nurture your child and teach them to be responsible at their young age so when they grow older it would help them a lot to making decisions for themselves.
