they have a reason to believe the SC is. after all, how the SC voted on the TRO itself gives one a pattern of where each justice's loyalties lie.
reminded me of the "envelope" fiasco during the Estrada impeachment. no matter what they say, their actions belie their words.![]()

I agree with this. Although you can't fault the public for assuming GMA is guilty. The media is disseminating information as if GMA has done an unforgivable crime, even to the point of specifically listing out all the "crimes" committed in her administration. This is similar to releasing the name and picture of a rape "suspect" before the person is charged with the crime.
my perspective has always been the usual. it has not changed and i do not see any reason for it to do so. as a matter of fact, every day seems to affirm and strengthen my conviction that i am seeing things at a better perspective.
it is like this:
- we have a factionated ruling class fighting against each other for a bigger share of everything.
- they need to legitimize their rule via public opinion and elections, despite the fact that their interests runs counter to the broad masses.
- they achieve this time and time again in different levels, not just via dole outs, patronage politics, but also on a deeper, more cultural level as explained by cultural hegemony
- squabbles like the Arroyo vs. Aquino showdown is show business, with the double aim of 1.)determining who among the faction should lead, and 2.)distracting the broad populace in thinking that the real battle is between the two factions, and not between the ruling class vs. the rest.
that was why i asked for some pop corn a while back. i wanted to sit back and enjoy the show.![]()

they go hand-in-hand in many ways than one.
- showbiz icons turned politicians
- politician marketing themselves as showbiz icons
- teleserye unfolding in the halls of the Senate and the House of Reps, in primetime news right in everybody's living room.
- the president of the "strong republic" with anomalies one on top of the other, impunity over media and extra-judicial killings supposedly perpetrated by state agents, now posing as the underdogs demanding her rights.
this story is an Oscar-winner in the making, except that it is too real to be believable.![]()
